“We very much enjoyed our stay at Jay’s lake house and would highly recommend this place to others. My boyfriend and I came for a weekend trip to see the eclipse, not knowing a lot about Chautauqua and we were pleasantly surprised by the house and the area as a whole. The neighborhood is very peaceful and we enjoyed the lake view. The house was very clean. We especially liked using the renovated kitchen and having coffee and tea on the front deck. “There’s so many things to love about this Lakehouse. It’s right on the water so you get to see everything from the inside if the weather is too cool to be outside. Plus, there’s plenty of yard space for corn hole and bury fire pit. There’s a gas grill on the property so we were easily able to pair meals every night plus a full kitchen. This is our go to for when we want to stay at Lake Chautauqua!”

“We visited to observe the solar eclipse. What a great experience, and Debra and Rick's house is wonderful. They are great hosts too! Built over 100 years ago, but you would never know that about their home. Completely renovated, with all modern amenities, but still retaining a wonderful charm with elements such as tall ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and wonderful wooden trim! Location is great too! It's right on Main Street and within easy walking distance to cafes, restaurants, bars and……

“Had to find a place to fit 4 adults and 3 kids on the fly for a funeral, this place fit the bill. Pros: House is clean, host is very responsive, great area of town. Cons: Parking is be tricky if you have a bigger vehicle (I have a truck), no washer or dryer, would have loved a keurig (they have a coffee pot). Overall nice clean place and a good host.”

“The house is a hodgepodge of rooms very oddly added over years, I'm guessing. The only floor that didn't give when you stepped on it was the living room. Listing says they provide towels, therewere none. Listing says there's a bidet, there is not. We could hear every car that drove by. Trains every 30 minutes. Furnace kicked on repeatedly and is very loud. Steps into every other room of the house. Beds were like sleeping on cardboard. Sheets felt almost plastic. Neither of us were able to sleep.……

“We booked this for the solar eclipse of 2024. The house was perfect! We had the best of both worlds, lake view but close enough to the hustle and bustle of downtown Erie. Plenty of room for our group that we went with. Inside was up to date and the backyard was amazing! It was clean and well stocked, maybe adding a few more drinking glasses would be a good addition. We would definitely recommend this house on Lake Erie, and will keep it in mind for future trips!”
