Charlevoix Fisherman's Island State Park Hotels

"We fell in love with the Blue Cottage! We’ve stayed in A LOT of vacation rentals and this home is among the very best. Impeccably clean, comfy beds, plush towels, a well stocked kitchen, and incredibly thoughtful smart little details throughout (loved the bathroom night lights). Watching the sunset view with deer grazing in front of the house every night was one of our highlights. This doesn’t feel like a rental property, it feels like a peaceful and welcoming home. The host is also so great to work with! We really hope to have the opportunity to return again! "

"Booked our hotel specifically for the hot tub/pool, which turns out was waiting on an inspection and was closed during our stay. Very frustrating, but out of the staff’s control. What is under their control is how they treat guests. Woke up the first morning of our stay, and was very much looking forward to a hot shower.. only to find the water didn’t get much above lukewarm. Went to the lobby to get extra towels for my partner and ask if the water was just a problem with our room, or a known hotel-wide issue. Was greeted by the front desk staff with an eye roll and a sigh when asking for additional towels. She said she didn’t know of any hot water issue. But in the next breath said that it happens when too many people take a shower at once.. so I guess they were, in fact, aware of it. Didn’t really have a hot shower for our entire stay, even with timing showers late in the evening. Very disappointing, but more disappointing about the indifference/rudeness from staff. The breakfast was the only decent thing about this stay, and maybe the courtyard. But that’s about it. Would not recommend. "

"The house is so unique and full of history. The view is phenomenal! We had four women there and the sleeping arrangements worked out just fine despite the small size of the house. It was just plain fun to stay there! I highly recommend!"

"Room Was nice, clean . No one on staff, a phone number on door to call. I was given the code to get in. Password to wifi didn't work and other thing that was strange.. no trash can anywhere, in Room or outside. So I left a neat pile on shelf."
