Anniversary getaway

Great location, enjoyed the views, house was clean, beds were comfortable, it would be nice to have firewood furnished and to have local tv channels. The parking was perfect for one car at the end of the gravel walking path to the stairs. Thank you so much, enjoyed our stay.

Weekend getaway

Very cozy house in a beautiful neighborhood. Great proximity to the river which was great for intertubing with our family. Only complaint was the coffee maker didn't work. Otherwise everything was great!

Great house with an awesome view of the mountains. Driveway too steep to park in and road was only wide enough for 1 car, luckily the whole week we only encountered 1 vehicle. Overall great week

HIdeaway up a hill

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved our trip to Fleetwood Falls. The cabin was great and very clean. As mentioned by others we agree that the ride up the mountain was very tight and the driveway wasn't an option for our vehicle but we were easily able to park on the road at the end of the driveway. We walked from the cabin down to Fleetwood Falls and it was well worth the walk. It was about 17 minutes each way. We would definitely stay again. Beautiful views and felt secluded.

Secluded Mountain View

Excellent stay on top of the mountain with a beautiful view from the deck for miles and miles. This is a great spot if you want to be alone. It is important that you realize this house is on top of a mountain. It is NOT suited for someone in a wheelchair. The walk from the parking spot to the house is up a severe incline. If you want to go for a walk on the road, it is a very steep road. This is great if you want to be isolated and everyone in your party is fit enough to climb stairs. We stayed in the summer, so no ice or snow. I imagine in the winter it can be tricky navigating ice. I would not drive up to the house on that road without a 4x4 vehicle (in winter). The house is very nice and well taken care of. Two bedrooms have AC, but the house does NOT have AC. So, be aware if it is summer, you have fans in the living spaces, but only AC in two bedrooms. It was a very relaxing stay for us in May 2025. Things that could be improved: add ESPN to the house cable package, put screen doors on the two sliding doors to help with air-flow and keep out bugs, fix the propane set-up, the hose (to the bottle) is too short and can become kinked, add yellow bulbs on the outside fixtures (to minimize the attraction of bugs), the stand up lamp near the fireplace needs a plastic lamp switch (it was missing for us). Thank you for the nice stay. We loved the house and the view.

We loved the cabin and overall neighborhood. There were a few things that were not exactly as listed. Driveway is steep and you can not park there. You must park on street. Dead end road so not much traffic. Washer and Dryer are in cellar. You must go down an outside stair to access. Cabin has AC but only in bedrooms. Not in kitchen or living room area. Walking path and common area are not as close as they seem in posting. We found out after we arrived and read all fine print in rental agreement that we were responsible to remove all garbage. There is no provision at cabin for garbage service or housekeeping to remove it. We have stayed in lots of rentals and never had to remove from the garbage from property before. We travel to Boone area every year and will not rent this cabin again.

Not expecting to be disappointed. But we were and decided for health reasons to leave.

After a lengthy 5 1/2-hour drive, our family arrived at the Riverbend Cabin, excited based on the photos and descriptions we had seen. Unfortunately, we were met with significant disappointment. First and foremost, there was no firewood available for the fireplace, which was a letdown for us. We love to cook our own meals and while the cabin had plenty of plates, glasses, and utensils, many of the cooking items were dirty and unsanitary. I felt compelled to clean dirty pots and pans that were carelessly stored under the counter, which was frustrating, especially during a holiday stay.The cabin's overall cleanliness was concerning; there is a questionable white substance in a small dawn bottle, and only a towel was provided for washing. Additionally, old, slimy bottles of olive oil and other condiments were left behind. To add to our discomfort, we noticed a stuffy atmosphere accompanied by floating particles in the air, likely due to crumbling plaster on the walls, causing us to cough and feel unwell.The condition of the furnishings was not much better; stained curtains and uncomfortable, possibly unclean bedding contributed to a restless night. Ultimately, we made the decision to leave after the first night due to the unsatisfactory conditions. While the Stay Blue Ridge team facilitated a partial refund, our experience left us feeling disheartened. We won't consider staying at a Blue Ridge rental again.

Great hilltop view

Very nice place. Great view from both the deck and from inside through the large windows. I would caution that this is not a good place for someone with mobility issues, as the walk from the parking area is steep.

Cabin getaway

Very nice cabin with beautiful views. Unable to park in driveway due to rutts, but plenty room to park on the street. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed our stay.

Very clean home with nice views and a well appointed kitchen. Be prepared to park in the cul de sac and walk a extra 20 or so feet up a partially washed out gravel driveway.

Time at Riverbend Chalet

This chalet was exactly what we were looking for. We loved sitting on the porch and there were 4 comfortable rocking chairs which was perfect for our party. The view was amazing and the setting was very private, even though we had homes on both sides. We could hear the river from the deck which was shaded until 11 and after 4. We were there at the end of August and was very comfortable. The driveway was too steep to park in but we had room for our two cars at the bottom. It was a bit of a trek to the house. There were plenty of electrical outlets and all were labeled making it easy to control lights and fans. There was plenty of hot water and great water pressure in the showers. WiFi was great, and we didn’t use the tv so couldn’t verify! We loved hiking trails at Moses Cone and Jefferson State Park. We would recommend the property and hope to book again!

Beautiful & Cozy Home in an Incredible Location

We spent an amazing two weeks at this home at the beginning of June (not too hot out yet!). We cannot recommend this place enough! Spacious, cozy, and truly in the most beautiful natural environment. Great quiet neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Close to tons of great hiking, swimming, boating, horseback riding, fishing, and more. The view from the back porch is purely mountains and forest—No civilization in sight :) I was initially concerned about what kind of access we would have to groceries, as we keep kosher and I am vegan, but it turns out there are a few towns nearby (about 20 min drive) with everything you need. We were very impressed by the selection at Ingles (the grocery chain) in West Jefferson—Has tons of options for all dietary needs. We also recommend the trail ride at Hidden Pastures Trails!

1st Mountain Weekend

With a slight change in plans, we still enjoyed our stay. Would definitely recommend to friends and have on the list to come back. One thing that needs to be shared is to let us know the driveway is a steep incline. We were glad that we came in one vehicle. There is little parking space at the end of the street.

Short Post-Easter Vacay

This was a lovely cabin on top of the mountain. We particularly enjoyed fishing in the river at the neighborhood entrance. We never did find the lake, but that’s ok - we stayed busy without it. If you like fishing, River Girl Fishing Company in Todd Is a great resource. Not sure why so many complaints about the “driveway” – it’s really more of a parking spot as it doesn’t go all the way up to the house, but not a big deal. We just parked at the bottom of the hill, on the road. But it is true that it is not for those with mobility issues. We love that it was dog friendly, although there wasn’t much of a yard to speak of. House smelled nice and was generally clean, although there were dirty dishes in the dishwasher. I’d recommend a newer TV as it won’t display HD channels, but the cable and Internet worked well. Be prepared to feel the effects of the high elevation, but the view is worth it!
