We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight a pleasant experience. Follow our insider tips and you'll be cruising through airport security and enjoying Alba in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you carry the right stuff. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a clean pair of socks and a good novel. Next, leave space in your carry-on bag for your phone and charger, medications and perhaps a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, remember to bring your passport, travel documents and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of banned items can differ between airlines, the general rule to follow is avoid carrying anything flammable, sharp or explosive. This includes knives, scissors, fuels and bleaching agents. Sports equipment like hockey sticks, and objects that could harm passengers, such as swords and guns, are also banned from the cabin.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane aren't the place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfortable clothing and pick shoes that are roomy, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
