Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you're well prepared. We've compiled a list of essential travel tips that will help get your Cambridge Bay holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It's simple — first, pack your passport, travel documents, bank cards and vital medications. Next, you'll need some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling book and a tablet crammed with your favourite shows are some fantastic options. If you intend to catch up on some sleep, a quality neck pillow and some earplugs will also come in handy. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some cleansing wipes so you'll step off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) won't be allowed on. Sharp or pointed objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and fuels, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by dressing in layers, and wear flat, slightly roomy footwear like slip-ons.
- Caused by sustained periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clot condition that can affect some passengers during long flights. Reduce the risks by staying hydrated, keeping your legs and feet moving and wearing compression socks to help your circulation.
