We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our insider tips and you'll be speeding through airport security and seeing the best of Chiang Khan before you know it. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Travelling on a plane can be a great experience if you've got all the right things. Firstly, you'll need basic toiletries, such as lip balm and hand cream, a fresh change of clothes and a good book. Secondly, find room in your carry-on bag for your mobile phone, a charger, any medications and maybe a proper neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to bring your passport, travel papers and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on bag larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by authorities. Sharp or pointed objects, like your treasured pocket knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and matches, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in cabin temperature by wearing layers, and opt for easy-to-remove shoes like slip-ons.
- You're probably aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of inactivity. To reduce your risk on board, drink lots of water, consider wearing compression tights or socks and do gentle foot and leg exercises in your seat.
