We've got the lowdown on how to make your flight as pain-free as possible. Follow our tips and tricks and you'll be speeding through airport security and having a ball in Melayu in next to no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- The secret to having a pain-free travel experience is to pack ahead. First up, the essentials: passport, boarding pass, bank cards and any vital medications. Next, bring items that'll help keep you occupied, like some electronic gadgets or a thrilling novel. It's also a wise idea to bring your chargers, a quality neck pillow and a pair of earphones. And of course, be sure to pop in toiletry items like a toothbrush, facial wipes and a spare set of clothes.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your beloved pocket knife, and dangerous products which are flammable or explosive, such as aerosols and fireworks, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your main priority when choosing what to wear on board. Loose, breathable clothing is a sensible option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Most travellers are aware of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by prolonged periods of sitting. To reduce your risk on board, stay hydrated, consider wearing compression socks or tights and move your legs and feet often.
