If you're poorly prepared, airports and flying can be challenging. But don't hit the panic button just yet. Follow these helpful hints for a pleasant start to your time in Melita. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane trip can be easy if you take the right stuff. First of all you'll need toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Next, find room in your hand luggage for your mobile phone, a charger, any vital medications and maybe a neck pillow too. Lastly, don't forget to take your passport, travel documents and your credit cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked luggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Sharp objects, like your trusty pocket knife, and dangerous goods which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should be your highest priority when deciding what to wear on your flight. Loose clothing is a smart option, as are flat, slip-on shoes.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It's the result of blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks or tights.
