Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've prepared well enough. We've compiled a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Merlas escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a stress-free experience if you carry the right things. Firstly, you'll want a few basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and a good read. Next, leave space in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any medications and maybe a cosy neck pillow too. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to take your passport, travel papers and your bank cards.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- While the list of restricted items can differ between airlines, the general guide to follow is avoid carrying anything sharp, flammable or explosive. This includes screwdrivers, pocket knives, aerosol cans and flares. Sports equipment like bows and arrows, and items that could harm passengers, such as swords and guns, won't be allowed on board either.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your aim here is to be as comfortable as possible. Opt for a pair of slip-on shoes, dress in loose, breathable clothing and remember to bring a jacket in case it gets chilly in the cabin.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT), a blood clot condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, can be a risk on long-haul flights. Try to wander around the cabin or do some simple exercises in your seat to improve your circulation.
