Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. Follow these top travel tips that will get your Notton escape started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a great experience if you pack the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want a few toiletry items, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare set of clothes and a few magazines. Secondly, leave space in your bag for your phone and charger, any vital medications and maybe a cozy neck pillow too. Last, but definitely not least, be sure to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Pointed or sharp objects, like your trusty Swiss Army knife, and dangerous goods which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, bleaching agents and poisons, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an aircraft are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and take a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin. Flat, enclosed shoes are also recommended.
- It's likely you've heard about DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clot condition caused by long periods of sitting. There's plenty you can do to lower your risk. Wear compression tights or socks, stay well hydrated and keep your legs and feet moving. Do a lap or two of the cabin or try out some exercises in your seat.
