Wherever you're coming from, flying can be a seamless experience if you've planned ahead. We've compiled a list of top travel tips that will help get your Siete vacation started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Flying can be a cruisy experience if you've got all the right stuff. Firstly, you'll want some basic toiletries, such as deodorant and a toothbrush, a spare change of clothes and a good novel. Secondly, find room in your bag for your phone and charger, any medications and perhaps a quality neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, don't forget to take your passport, travel docs and some cash.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hair gel in your checked baggage. Any liquids or gels in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by authorities. Pointed or sharp objects, like your precious pocket knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as aerosol cans, spray paint and strong acids, are also restricted.
What to wear on a flight:
- Your goal here is to be as comfortable as possible. Dress in loose, natural fibers and take a jacket in case it gets cool in the cabin. Opt for a pair of flat, slightly roomy shoes as your feet may swell during the journey. Leave the stilettos and heavy boots in your main luggage.
- The condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing leg and foot exercises while seated helps to prevent this occurring. Wearing a pair of compression tights or socks is also recommended.
