Wherever you're jetting in from, flying can be an enjoyable experience if you've planned ahead. We've put together a list of handy travel tips that will help get your Viey holiday started on the right note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- A plane ride can be a great experience if you take the right gear. First of all you'll need basic toiletries, such as deodorant, toothpaste and a toothbrush, a fresh change of clothes and something to read. Next, find a spot in your bag for your phone, tablet and chargers, any daily medications and maybe a neck pillow as well. Lastly, and most importantly, be sure to bring your passport, travel papers and some money.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Double-check that you don't have sharp objects (like a pocket knife) lurking in your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive products, such as bleach and fuel, and liquids and gels in containers larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of a plane are no place for a fashion parade. Layer up with comfy clothing and choose shoes that are closed-toe, flat and easy to take on and off.
- Caused by lengthy periods of inactivity, deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a blood clotting condition that can affect passengers during long-haul flights. Reduce the risks by drinking water, keeping your legs moving and wearing compression tights or socks.
