Best Beach House

Small beach house only 5 minute walk to the ocean water. Everything you need to cook your own favorite foods just like you do at home. Small dogs are welcome and everything was super clean. Will be my small family's annual go to beach house reservation!

Comfy chairs, beds, pillows in this small space. Perfect for my friend and I to share space. Walk across the street to enter the trail to the ocean. Reasonable price.

Love this beach house so much! The kitchen is great and loaded with all sorts of cooking stuff, the view from the top bedroom is unreal, and the deck out front is great for reading, eating, hanging out, lounging!

Small gem

It was smaller than we anticipated, but very comfortably done. The stairs to the 2nd floor were too steep for us to use & too steep for our dog. We loved it though! Enjoyed our stay very much. The walk to the beach is the best & very accessible. We will rent it again.

Great location, view and accommodation!

The house was a cozy, comfortable place. We brought our own pre-made food, snacks and drinks and the stocked kitchen made it perfect. We were there during the January king tides. After wave watching and beach walking it was so relaxing to come back to our warm, dry house. I can't wait to return when the weather has warmed up and can take full advantage of the balcony, deck fire pit!

Really enjoyed staying here, however the house does have an ANT problem. We brought our dog with us and in the morning came down to his food bowl completely covered in ants. Other then that though, really enjoyed staying here

Charming and Cozy

Day Dreamer is a dream come true! From our first impression it was welcoming and very comfortable throughout our stay. For a small home the furniture is well thought out. The interior is filled with lots of thoughtful details that made us feel right at home. There are wonderful views of the ocean, especially from the beautiful bedroom upstairs. Situated very close to Driftwood Shores provides access for walking on the beach, through fun neighborhoods and a good deli nearby. Yes, the stairway to the upstairs is steep and not for the faint of heart, but well worth climbing carefully for the lovely peacefulness up there. The decks outside are perfect and the potted flowers add such a nice touch! It was certainly a dreamy week and we hope to return.

Lovely…adorable…sweet little getaway

Day Dreamer is a lovely getaway! It feels very private while being just steps from Heceta Beach. When we arrived, I kept saying things to my husband like ‘It’s adorable’ and ‘It’s lovely’! The outside furniture is thoughtful. The furnishings inside are very comfortable, including the upstairs bed. The hose outside was a nice touch so we could rinse our bicycles after a beach ride. The upstairs deck is amazing. The steps inside, while steep, did not seem as treacherous as I expected after reading other reviews. Minor ways to improve such as ensuring a clean tablecloth is on the kitchen table and fixing what seems to be a broken lamp on a table in the upstairs bedroom (in front of the window on a table). The lampshade was just resting on the light bulb so my husband fastened it as it should have been. Duct taped carpet underneath steps. Really, no major concerns or complaints. A lovely stay…thank you!

Know before you go

If you are going to Henderson, the location of this house is amazing. Just across the street from easy access to a gorgeous beach. Because of high winds, we were glad to be across the street in a house with natural barriers. The street is not a main road so it's very quiet. About the house: -Great beds -It's managed by VACASA so you will be hit with fees from them and VRBO. Our fees for a 4 night stay were almost as much as the total nightly cost. -No dishwasher so the utensils, cups and things are only going to be hand-wash clean. We ended up rewashing many things and would have preferred to spend less time doing dishes on vacation. -There are so many knicknacks everywhere that were dusty and made the place feel cluttered. Strongly suggest the managers remove at least half the decorative stuff to give a cleaner feel and help out the cleaners. Including the rugs and drapes/curtains which are everywhere and felt dirty. -Extra blankets were in a big pile with other things in a closet so we werent sure how clean they were. -Dog hair all over couch. -Haphazard collection of spices, teas, and coffee likely collected from past guests -- not provided by management-- and jammed in an upper cabinet. -Washer smelled moldy and drier smelled like dog. One detergent pod provided for each day. Towels in kitchen smelled moldy. -As someone else said, the stairs up to the loft bedroom are more like a ladder than a flight of stairs. We hope all this helps!

Coastal Explorations

Daydreamer was the best home base for us to spend time learning about this part of the Oregon Coast. Location was everything because we could walk right across the street and down to Heceta Beach! My daughter enjoyed the view from the upstairs bedroom also and since she is still a youngster she could navigate the steep stairs well:). We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen area each morning for breakfast. We stayed from Thursday night until Wednesday morning so each day we headed out either north or south and then also spentTime in Old Town Florence as well. My daughter’s goal was to ride a horse on the beach and that was accomplished at C& M Stables on Saturday. We enjoyed some sunny afternoon reading on the upper deck and lower deck as well. We were lucky for early March and had some very nice weather!! We left a few things to come back in the future to do but we did the following: Heceta Head Lighthouse, Luna Sea in Yachats for fish and chips, Sea Lion Cave, Face Rock, and Thor’s Well and Spouting Horn. Soooo many great photos. We appreciate the timeliness of the electricity problem being fixed quickly so that the stay at Daydreamer would be comfortable: Vacasa and Ligjthouse Electrical (especially electrician Lance Hill) were awesome and so appreciated!! For your explorations of the Oregon Coast I can recommend Daydreamer at the Heceta Beach to be your headquarters for a beautiful stay!!
