The Space:
Starry Night Farmstay by Tiny Away is set on a scenic farm with expansive green paddocks, tranquil riverbanks, and a spacious shed for car parking. The tiny house is situated approximately 20 metres from the main house and 500 metres from the main road.
Just a 10-minute drive from Forbes, this cabin is close to Cowra and Orange, both about an hour away. While in the region, don’t miss local highlights such as the Cowra Japanese Gardens, Cook Park, and the Orange Botanic Gardens.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower—making it a perfect choice among relaxing holiday homes.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Our veranda has no railings—children must be supervised at all times.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home, the river (500m walk), and the 3-person outdoor spa near the main house. The hay shed is off-limits.
Preorders available with 24hrs notice:
- Spa tub is $10 per hour
- Firewood is $5 per kilo
- Recovery Ice Bath Tub is $5 per use
- Extra Farm Fresh Eggs available for collecting
- Grapes and Oranges are available to pick when in season
- We have coffee, tea bags, fresh milk, and clean rainwater to drink
The Neighborhood:
Starry Night Farmstay by Tiny Away is just 10 minutes from Forbes and within an hour of Cowra and Orange. Experience Wiradjuri culture, heritage sites, and local produce. Just a short drive away, you’ll find Robertson Park, perfect for a relaxing stroll, the peaceful Orange Botanic Gardens, and the Cowra Japanese Gardens, which offer 12.5 acres of calm naturescape.
For outdoor fun, the Lachlan River is a playground for watersports, and camping. Cook Park in Orange is a self-guided heritage walk featuring duck ponds, an aviary with native birds, and colorful seasonal blooms. Right in the heart of Forbes, Lake Forbes is a peaceful spot with a 10km walking and cycling trail.
Getting Around:
By car:
- 4 hrs 58 mins. (380 kms) from Sydney
- 3 hrs 11 mins. (275 kms) from Canberra
- 7 hrs 33 mins. (703 kms) from Melbourne
By public transport:
- Public transport by bus and train is available from Sydney and Melbourne.
- Taxi service is available as the property is 7 kms from town center of Forbes.
Other Things to Note:
- Satellite NBN is available
- No unregistered guests allowed
- No smoking allowed on the property
- Kindly note “we have our dogs” onsite
- Farm guidelines will be provided before your booking
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays have an additional charge
- Mobile reception is good for Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, 2degrees, and Spark is weak
- Pets are welcome with 24 hours’ notice and must stay leashed. Some breeds are restricted, so please share your dog’s breed in advance. Full pet policy will be sent before arrival.
Snake safety guidelines
- Avoid walking through tall grass as snakes are abundant in the area
- Please wear appropriate clothing during snake season, including long loose pants and closed-toe shoes like boots or sneakers.
Important note:
- BBQ grills and fire pits are not available during a “Fire Ban”
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an extra cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain our cassette toilet and ensure a clean experience for all guests.
