  • Close to the market town of Forfar, this is an ideal property for a relaxing holiday in the Scottish countryside.. Ground Floor:

    Shower Room: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Underfloor central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial fuel for wood burner included. Cot and highchair, travel cot available upon request. Welcome pack. Lawned garden with patio, sitting-out area and garden furniture. Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. This beautifully appointed detached property sits in splendid isolation, surrounded by the mature farmlands of the Lour Estate. Completely renovated to a very good standards throughout, it is a superb example of a stylish and comfortable holiday home. Although remote, the property is only 4 miles from the market town of Forfar, where there is an abundance of local facilities as well as a good golf course, a nature reserve and swimming pool. The area is rich in history and is an ideal base for touring, hillwalking, bird watching, horse-riding, visiting castles, National Trust properties and Pictish stones. To the east are the very good beaches of the Angus Coastline, whilst to the west the Angus Glens are a challenge for all walking abilities. Forfar Loch attracts anglers, walkers and wildlife, whilst Glamis Castle is a short drive away. There are several very good golf courses within an hour’s drive, not least St Andrews and Carnoustie. An ideal choice at any time of the year. Shop, pub and restaurant 4 miles.

We have stayed in many self catering cottages throughout the UK, all of which have been of a very high standard, but Meadowgreen Farmhouse was our best yet. The location was perfect - quiet and private, the downstairs bedroom was ideal for one of our party who was unable to manage the stairs, the property was clean, well equipped, with a modern kitchen. The wi-fi was reliable, the seating area was comfortable and there was room for us all to spread out.
