Welcome to Alpha’s Log Cabin, the perfect getaway. Relax in the quiet of the woods on the covered porch and hear the sounds of babbling creek.

Step inside and you are greeted by warmth and comfort. The Living Room has a Sleeper Sofa, Wood Stove, Smart TV with streaming services, Board Games, and Books. You will find the Kitchen fully equipped. One Bathroom with a Clawfoot Tub and Shower. Large Loft bedroom with one Queen Bed and Twin. WiFi is provided.
A window air conditioner and window fan are installed in the summer months, even though the cabin usually stays at a comfortable temperature.
The cabin also has an outdoor fire pit (wood provided) and charcoal grill for your enjoyment.


Alpha’s Log Cabin is located five miles from the Historic Town of Franklin. In the area you will find hiking, hunting, fishing, kayaking, spelunking, rock climbing and golfing

Attractions within the county include Pike Knob, Nelson Sods, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob (highest point in WV) Nelson Rocks (Nation's Premiere Via Ferrata, outdoor zip lines) Smoke Holes, Yokum’s Stables (horseback ride to top of Seneca rocks) Warners Drive Inn and Swilled Dog Cidery.

Canaan Valley State Park and Resort, Blackwater Falls, Cass Scenic Railroad, Snowshoe Mountain Resort, Smoke Hole Caverns

The 92 Alpha's Log Road address does not show up on GPS. The cabin is located 5 3/4 miles off 33 West from Franklin, WV.

We had a lovely experience celebrating our son’s birthday here—Dinah added thoughtful special touches that were a lovely surprise. The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need. The location is accessible but remote enough to be off the beaten path, not have road noise and have an incredible dark night sky. Dinah was incredibly responsive to our queries as they came along. We look forward to visiting again!

Very quiet and private. Kitchen was stocked with cooking necessities and had some seasoning, flour, and sugar. Host was great about returning messages and making your stay comfortable. Came to a warm cabin because they started the woodstove for us. They also left snacks and cookies. The cabin was in a good location. Close enough to the main road, but far enough it was quiet and peaceful. It was nice sitting outside by the fire and not seeing anyone or hearing traffic go by.

The cabin is a quiet oasis in the mountains of West Virginia. It is conveniently located near wonderful nature destinations of Northern WV to include Seneca Rocks & Cavern, Blackwater Falls and Pine Knob. We had deer great us daily and enjoyed sightings of turkey and hawks on the property. Although surrounded by nature, it's easy to get to Rt 33, 28 and 220 making it easy to navigate to any adventure. The cabin was spotless and is an ideal retreat.

This was the first place we ever stayed in Franklin/Riverton, and since then we've returned to the area every year. We stayed in this cabin for a second time, our first time traveling outside of winter, and the AC was able to keep the cabin cool on hot days.There is a lot to do in the area; Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob (Where the milky way is faintly visible at night, *very* visible with long-exposure), Solly Sods, the Fire Lookout Tower on Route 33, all within an hour drive.If you're thinking about booking this cabin, you won't regret your decision. You definitely get more than your money's worth!

Getaway to west Virginia

My wife and I had an enjoyable 4 night anniversary stay at this little cabin. The drive back the lane made it feel away from the world but it was still only a couple miles from the quaint town of Franklin WV. Coffee on the front porch and sleeping to the sound of running creek water was a highlight!

Welcoming and cozy cabin

We loved our stay at this cabin. The property is very clean and has lots of little touches that make it homely and welcoming. The sound of the creek next to the cabin immerses you in nature. It is well connected to US Route 33, but far enough so you don't hear the sound of cars. Perfect getaway to disconnect and be in nature.
