Winnie's Place - Dog Friendly - Beautiful sunsets, Hill County Views!

Come on down to Winnie's Place, situated in a country atmosphere where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the courtyard or at the large island in this spacious kitchen. The home has been furnished with relaxation in mind. You and your family and/or friends can all hang around in the living area to enjoy a game or catch a little tv and have the electric fireplace going. You are only 10 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg so you can go and take in the activities it has to offer, dining, live music, wineries and lets not forget our local breweries. Now this is the way to relax. No cable. There is Wi-Fi for streaming and a smart TV!

Pet Requirements:
Dogs weighing less than 60 lbs. are welcome. Please keep dogs off the furniture and beds. If you leave the dog at the property it must be kept in a kennel. No fenced yard. (leash is required)! Breezy Hills Dr. is good for walking your dog. $35.00 Extra per day per dog.

• Kitchen is well equipped with all your cooking and entertainment needs. Dishes, silverware, pots, pans, coffee maker, blender, microwave and large appliances. Note that food products such as spices or seasoning are not provided for safety reasons.

• Property is supplied with one set of sheets for all beds. Bath towels are supplied per number of people the house sleeps. .

• A start up supply of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags and dish soap will be provided. We also supply a starter set of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, and bath soap. After that, the guest is responsible for any additional needs.

• Suggested items to bring are extra paper goods (toilet paper, facial tissue and paper towels), extra pillows if you wish to sleep with more than one, spices/seasoning, extra trash bags, sun tan lotion/sun block and mosquito repellant.

Self catering: All of our properties are self-catering. No maid or towel service is provided during your stay.

Check-in Process:
We are proud to offer contactless check-in and check-out. Fredericksburg Escapes will contact you on the day of your arrival, typically in the afternoon once your property is ready, to provide an access code to the property. Please keep in mind that we cannot provide the access code until the property is clean and ready.

Country Quiet

If you would like apply a quiet place to unwind and relax, this is the place for you. We enjoyed the remoteness of it, and yet the accessibility to Fredericksburg and all of its activities. Access and check-in went seamlessly. We also appreciated the fact of this property excepted a medium size dog. Most places will only let you bring small dogs. The accommodations in the house were also very adequate. The Kitchen was stocked generously with utensils and cookware, with the exception of a pizza cutter, which I was unable to find. We didn’t use the outside grill but it’s there in case you would like to grill. We did hear coyotes at night so be aware if you have a dog and it wants to go outside at night. We enjoyed the birds at the feeder and the numerous butterflies. Overall, it was a great place for us.

It was a beautiful home with a pretty view. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It had allbthe amenities listed and more. The water has a slight sulfurish smell but subsides a couple of seconds after running. The hosts provided a Brita water pitcher to purify drinking water. It worked well. Lovely place! We would definitely stay again!

Fantastic!

Great gated location away from downtown but only about 8 miles out. Very quiet surroundings. House is very clean. Kitchen well stocked, with exception of a dishwasher. 😫 Bed was comfy. Water does have sulfur smell most noticeable at bathroom sink, I didn’t notice much in shower or kitchen sink. Go for the view alone and you’ll be glad you did. We will be back, hopefully soon!

In the hills near Fredericksburg

I visited mainly to see the meteor shower with a friend from work who is also interested in astronomy. The meteor shower was disappointing but the sky was completely clear and our stay was very pleasant. We both got some good astrophotographs. The house was very nicely decorated and had powerful central air conditioning. The Wi-Fi was strong enough to reach the back yard and support the computer attached to my telescope. There were many thoughtful touches including a bar of soap and multiple nightlights. The tap water smelled of hydrogen sulfide, but a container with a tap full of filtered water was in the refrigerator and tasted good. I appreciated the stove and the bathtub equipped with a shower on a hose. The location was very quiet and dark and very hilly, not as flat as I anticipated but a good viewing site.

Amazing Quiet Place to Stay

Winnie’s Place was exceptionally clean and well taken care of. It was so cozy and open. We loved getting the chance to sit outside and look at the stars for a breather (mom friends) before kids go back to school. Communication was great and we will definitely back for a weekend with our spouses very soon.

Perfect for our weekend getaway.

My husband and I had a spontaneous three day weekend and wanted to get out of town. Fredericksburg is an easy long weekend trip for us and it had been a while since we have visited. We found this house available, and it was perfect! From communicating before our stay about some details, to clear instructions upon arrival, it was one of the easiest rentals we’ve ever done. The house was immaculately clean, and the views were spectacular. The house had two queen size beds plus a pull out sofa. Only one bathroom but for us it wasn’t a big deal. Very quiet neighborhood with cows and donkeys almost in the backyard! Quick 10 minute drive into Fredericksburg. We would definitely book again for another quick getaway to the Hill Country! Perfect central location to explore all that the surrounding Hill Country has to offer.

Cute 2/1 cottage literally a few minutes away from town. Loved the privacy and scenery. Wi-Fi and board games were a hit. Loved watching the nearby animals and the family enjoyed the patio table area with a gas grill for our dinner.

Quiet, scenic, great location

Stayed 4 nights. Just a lovely home. Loved the decor. Great views. We loved the little donkeys that visited us over the fence. And the deer that crossed the property every morning. Well stocked kitchen, plenty of cooking items. Very convenient to Fredericksburg and nearby attractions. The beds were very comfortable. The only negative I had was the forms that I was expected to fill out prior to rental online & return by Email. I only have an iPad so I had to go to someone else with a computer that could do this for me. This is the only time I ever had to deal with a rental agency in all the times I have used vrbo. But overall a great experience & we loved the little house. Would definitely recommend this property.

Vacation in Texas Hill Country

Great accommodations with only drawback being only one bathroom. This was known upfront so it wasn’t dealbreaker. We would stay there again. Close to Fredericksburg for dining and shopping and near Enchanted Rock State Park. Enjoyed the visit.
