Improve your sense of calm, breathing in the salty air and hearing the crashing waves, all while taking in the gorgeous unobstructed views of the gulf.
The home is super cozy, and has no bunk beds! Instead the two fully appointed bedrooms are set up with premium bedding and black-out curtains, in order to make your stay as relaxing as possible. A twin-sized foldable rollaway with a comfortable and supportive memory foam mattress is also available when an additional bed is necessary (75”x38”, max 450 lbs).
For those working from home, there is a small desk in the kitchen where you can set up shop overlooking the beach. The home has 1GB high speed internet access, and Roku is available to sign into all of your streaming apps on the 75” living room television, and also on the bedroom televisions. To protect your privacy, you will be automatically logged out of your apps at checkout.
The fully stocked kitchen includes a Keurig K-Mini Single Serve (bring your own pods), 12-cup coffee maker, blender, toaster, and microwave. Beneath the home a charcoal BBQ and fish cleaning station are available (bring your own briquettes).
All bathroom amenities are provided, including high quality white towels, Native shampoo/conditioner, and hair dryer. An in-suite washer/dryer is available for laundry. And you will be glad to know the tap water in Treasure Island tastes great (unlike Surfside)!
Beach chairs and towels are available for your use. Soak up the sun, have an evening meal on the expansive deck, or simply relax with a glass of wine as you take in the panoramic gulf views.
For those game lovers, enjoy Bocce on the beach, set up a game of Croquet in the yard around the home, or play a traditional game of Cornhole! For those rainy days and quiet evenings, an assortment of cards, board games, and puzzles are also available for your enjoyment.
Best of all, you don’t have to leave your furry family members behind! The large, fully-fenced yard is pet-friendly, and there is a gate at the top of the stairs to prevent your pets (or small children) from going down the stairs when you do not want them to.
WHAT TO DO:
· Treasure Island hosts one of the best fishing areas in the region, from the beach and by boat, and the private Treasure Island boat ramp and fishing piers are fully accessible to guests. It is also a popular spot for crabbing!
· The kayaking and paddle boarding are amazing, with easy boat ramp access to get in and explore the still bay or gulf waters.
· The beach in front of the home is known for its variety of seashells, and its potential for finding treasures after a storm or during low tide. Look for whelks, conches, sand dollars, and the occasional bull shark tooth!
· Treasure Island is a haven for bird watchers, where you will find shorebirds, water birds, and land birds. Migratory birds that pass through the area in spring and fall use Treasure Island as a stopover site along the Central Flyway.
· Beachfront horseback riding is a 5-minute drive away, on the beach in front of the Blue Water RV Resort.
· The Kelly Hamby Nature Trail is a 5-minute drive, and is a short 0.4 mile out-and-back easy trail through the coastal dunes leading to the beach. From the end of the boardwalk you can extend your walk along the beach, to simply enjoy this secluded spot.
· For exploring the beach and fully experiencing the Golf Cart Community lifestyle, golf carts can be rented from www.surfsidebeachbuggyrental.com (minimum rental period and delivery fee may apply).
· A short 20-minute drive will bring you to Surfside; close enough for an evening out, but far enough away that the beach is not crowded. Try the Seahorse Grill for dinner, or Sharkie’s on the Beach for some live music!
· The home is a 30-minute drive from Galveston and its nightlife! Take a day trip to Schlitterbahn Waterpark, the Seawall, the Strand Historic District, Pleasure Pier, or Moody Gardens. Check out www.visitgalveston.com/events for a calendar of events happening throughout the year.
· Lake Jackson is a 30-minute drive, where you can golf, visit the Historic Museum, Brazosport Museum of Natural Science, Gulf Coast Bird Observatory, or Sea Center Texas, a marine museum with touch tanks, aquarium, hatchery, and outdoor wetlands with boardwalk trail.
IMPORTANT: the beach immediately in front of the home provides amazing fishing, bird-watching and shelling, but is NOT accessible for swimming due to dangerous riptides around the San Luis Pass Bridge. Beach access for swimming purposes is a 2-minute drive (10-minute walk) to the other side of the Treasure Island rocks. Pet-owners, be aware there are occasionally coyotes seen in the area, so it is recommended not to leave small pets unattended in the yard after dark (there is a gate at the top of the stairs).
PRIVACY: there are three security cameras used for identifying suspicious activity outside of guest reservations: two mounted beneath the home looking at the shed and parking area, and one as you climb the stairs to the main deck. There are two Google speakers within the home that can be used to play music or control smart devices; these speakers are in ‘Guest Mode’, which automatically deletes all Google Assistant activity in order to protect your privacy. There is an Apple HomePod Mini used as a hub for front door access, located in a storage closet, and has its microphone disabled.
POLICIES: Please clean up after your pets. No smoking indoors; smoking out of doors acceptable as long as cigarettes are disposed of in a provided ash tray. Please no guests other than those registered; maximum four adults.
CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: Access the home electronically with your own unique lock code, enabled from 4pm on your arrival date until 11am on the date of your departure.
