Family Getaway

We absolutely loved getting away to the cabin. The inside was amazing and it was the perfect getaway for our family. We left only wishing we could stay longer. We will definitely use this cabin again.

Family Fishing Trip

We went to Texas for a fun family trip with the guys! The home was clean, east to check in and out of. Would recommend this property to anyone.

Homey place to stay

This property was comfortable and felt like a home away from home. The property owner was thoughtful and attentive when needed. The location was close enough to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park to be convenient, but also far enough away to find peace and quiet in the evening. Highly recommend!

Third times a charm

Our third time staying at this property, nice quiet location, lovely home close to the beach even ran out of propane for the grill and they were quick to respond. Will definitely stay here a fourth time.

Amazing views

Truly a Beautiful home & Amazing views. Only thing that I wud change is the check in to be at the latest 3pm. So u can unload/unwind, rest & get ready for dinner. Everything else was close to perfect, but that is what I normally look at when renting. That wut have given the 5th . We had a great time!!

Wonderful Time!!

This was our first time renting a house instead of doing a hotel and it was amazing!! I can’t wait until our next vacation. The house was amazing and in a great location. My family loved the house and we enjoyed our time there.

Great place for remote work.

Family get away

This was a spur of the moment trip that we planned in 2 weeks. We were able to make changes to our dates easily and without any hassle. The house was amazing and very accommodating for our family. It was close to the beaches which we greatly enjoyed and Galveston.

Beautiful Home

Absolutely beautiful home. Everything was clean and we had plenty of towels and it was a very short walk to the beach. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the queen bed was not comfortable for 2 people and the wifi hardly worked when we wanted to watch a movie in the evenings.

Beautiful home.

The beach house was very comfortable and beautiful. Beds were all comfortable. The only issue is the smell in the house. There is a strong musty stale smell through out. I believe there is a moisture problem that is causing the smell.

Great stay!

This charming and cozy home is beautifully decorated for the beach and the furnishings are so comfortable. It is well stocked for anything you need. It has great views of the bay and the beach . The beach entrance is a very short drive, practically across the street and you can drive your vehicle right to the spot you want to spend your day at. The only down sides are the mosquitos that really were just by the house at night if there was no light not the beach and smell of the faucet water which can’t be helped. Great place! Would love to go back.

Family Fall Break

House was perfect size for our family. Nice Bunk room was great for our four teens. Super clean and beds were very comfortable. Convenient to bay or beach ~ short distance to boat ramp and pier and N easy walk across the main road to public beach entrance. Favorite part of the house is there are two decks, one in each side of the house so you can catch both the sunrise and sunset. Had plenty of soap, shampoo, detergent, and extra coffee. Only recommendation would be to have more than three beach towels and house has a new smell that is strong. Not sure what they could do to help.

Gorgeous home with great views

This home was absolutely beautiful! Love the beachy decorations. Everything was very clean and felt brand new. We enjoyed watching the beach from the back deck and the sunset from the front porch. Entrance to the beach was conveniently directly in front of the neighborhood entrance. The neighborhood was very quiet. Kitchen was very spacious and easy to prepare all our meals. There are several restaurants just a short drive away, if you don't want to cook. The only downside for us was the foul smelling water. Like the owners recommend, bring plenty of water bottles for drinking, cooking, etc. Our teens enjoyed the games and video streaming apps during our downtimes. We love the beach at Freeport/Surfside! Thanks for letting us stay in your beautiful spacious home!

Beautiful Stinky House with Bad Water

We looked for a relatively new house that was non-smoking and pet free because of allergies to both. The good: the house is new, thoughtfully designed, and beautifully decorated. The Bad: it REEKS of stale cigarettes. We got home and are going to have to launder our luggage as well as clothes. The smell was so bad that it wafted outside when someone would open the back porch door to come out. It made me sick and I could not sleep all week because I could not breathe. The ugly: this home does not have a water filtration system that filters out the salt water or the sulfur smell in the water. It is hard to bathe in, and you would not want to put a child in the yellow bath water the tub provides. The drinking water out of the highly touted reverse osmosis system on the fridge also tasted like salt. I called the property manager who quickly called the owner to find answers to my questions about the salty water. I was assured that nobody smokes in the house, but the maintenance worker who came to take out the trash can never dropped his cigarette as he got out of his truck and took the trash can to the curb on Thursday. The property manager answered us quickly, but told us the owner was in charge of the water filtration system and that he would have to drive up when he could to look at it. The property manager did provide us with additional bottled water to supplement what we brought, and we were thankful for that olive branch. Overall, the home is so beautiful and views are so spectacular that I hate to review it so poorly. However, the smoke smell and water that smelled of sulfur and tasted of salt ruined our vacation. Not everyone will care about the smoke smell or water taste, smell, and feel, but, for those who do, I would not recommend this house. The listing should not tout the reverse osmosis water system or water filtration system because they do not give fresh clean water to drink as advertised.

Better than pictures

House is beautiful, clean and fresh de or and well planned out floorplan. Pictures do not do it justice! Great balconies with a view of the ocean and a 2nd with a view of the bay. Beach access is directly across the street and just a couple minute walk, although we found most drive vehicles and park them on the beach with a tent behind the trunk tailgate style. We had a great time! Thank you!

Great quiet spot.

The house is beautiful and beach access is across the street. We had fun game options inside when it was raining. The only downfall would be the king and queen beds could be a little more comfortable. The bunks are great.

Hidden Gem!!

Absolutely gorgeous decor and perfect location! The minute we opened the front door it was ahhh and oooh and wow! The decor is outstanding and you feel so welcomed and at home! Every single part was awesome! The only hiccup we encountered was the internet connection and tv. It did not work for us and the tv always froze so we weren't able to watch anything at the end of our days. Other than that 100% recommend! We will be back for sure! Thanks Vacasa for a great stay!
