"We have stayed at La Playa for the last 5 years. This is a great location for people not wanting to drive after dark. The restaurants of Orient Village or Ti Palms are right next door. Excellent French and Italian dining!
There is a small grocery even closer that has a good selection and will save you a trip to the Match or Super-U. If you want to skip the included breakfast, the Good Morning is a great alternative for French pastries.
We do not use the beach at the hotel, only because we meet up with friends on another part of the beach.
This year, we noticed that the included breakfast buffet has improved with increased fruit and pastry selections. However, minor things like salt and pepper shakers not working still persist. Also improved is the TV channel selection with the addition of the Miami network stations.
We stayed 15 nights this time. The bed was comfy, the refrigerator kept my Heineken cold, and the air-conditioning was killer! La Playa is my recommendation for anyone wanting to stay on the French side in the Orient Beach area."
