Pros - proximity to Hatteras sights, shops, and ferry; short walk to the beach; quiet in the offseason; hot tub on top deck where you can view the stars (probably best in the offseason when there are much fewer lights from neighbors)
Cons - pet hair on furniture; construction debris in bathrooms; water leaks in main bedroom, large bubbles in bathroom floor linoleum
We stayed in January in the offseason and experienced a strong storm with minor flooding, strong winds, and heavy rain. The house swayed a little but it held. The front door appeared to have recently been replaced but not yet fully sealed so it leaked quite a bit. Water also penetrated the siding and came through the ceiling fan on the first floor. The siding facing the ocean needs replacement and the structure underneath may have significant water damage as the water damage we witnessed on the inside did not appear to be the first of its kind. The staff did call us on our way back to make sure we made it out ok.
If you're looking for a good location that meets your basic needs in good weather conditions, this place probably will work for you and your family.
