Busy hub but still with a smaller town feel. Lots of food, shopping and entertainment options for both adults and kids. Hakata was our main focus while we were still able to easily navigate buses and subways for day trips as well.

Great connectivity to the area. Loved taking the buses and going around. Easy to walk and see everything I wanted in a short period. Less traveled by western tourists but English signage everywhere. Well worth it.

Go to Dazaifu. It is worth the time and get some croissants at Il Forno del Mignon in the train station. Its a long line but worth it. The chocolate croissant is the best

The subway lines are simple and take you to major attractions and shopping areas easily. From down town to Airport is only 15 min subway ride. If subway is not available, buses are running everywhere. Unlike a decade ago, taxis are not easy to find.

Fukuoka is the one of the best travel area, especially sea food is so great. I feel passion from the town. Compare to Tokyo, there are much more young people in town. Night activities are good, too. Enjoy your Fukuoka night!
