The property was not as nice as the pictures. The coffee maker was broken, the Front porch chair was broken, the washer didn't work and rolled-up rugs on the floor were tripping hazards.

Very convenient

This house is cute, roomy, and very close to the beach. There were several small issues that would have been nice to know about ahead of time. The first issue we had was getting the front door to lock from the outside. My advice is to test it as soon as you check in. We were delayed to dinner our first night 30 minutes trying to get someone to tell us how to get the door locked. (Just pushing the button on the outside was not working.). The coffee pot does not work at all, so bring instant, or your own coffee pot. The ice maker is not operational. There are 2 ice trays, so plan on purchasing ice, as well. There were only a couple of washcloths, so you will need to bring your own if you need more than 4 washcloths for your stay. (None of these issues would have changed my mind in staying here, but it would have been good information to know up front so I could have prepared for them.) There are plenty of beds and they are very comfortable. There are puzzles and games at the house to enjoy during the evenings. The backyard is quite large with 2 large tables and a propane grill (just bring all utensils yourself for grilling).

Terrible experience - kitchen flooded

Started with Laundry washer not working. When we complained a guy came and said he cannot he cannot fix it, he’s just a regular maintenance guy but will send a technician. The technician never came. Then dishwasher in the kitchen flooded with water all over the place. Almost all towels went in the drying the kitchen floor. When we called they said it’s an emergency as is it is flooding issue and someone should be there. No one came. The garbage disposal button got stuck with water in the sink filled. We complained. No one came. All our experience was calling, complaining, sending text messages and waiting for someone to arrive. I wish I could post some pictures which we took.

Castaway vacation

The home is lovely. Plenty of room for 8 people - 2 adullts, 2 teen boys, and 4 kiddos 5-8. The only complaint is there are no.instructions on how to contact manager/host with a problem. But, overall we had a great time, felt safe letting little ones play in back yard, and It was an easy walk to restaurants, beach and entertainment-- just minutes away walking. There was no need to take car and worry about parking.

Great location, comfortable house

We booked this property for two families to share. The location and layout were perfect, with plenty of space for two families. Our kids shared the bunk room which sleeps four. There were a number of lightbulbs out in the living areas and a few things that needed some maintenance. After emails through the Vacasa app went unanswered we called the property manager and someone arrived within an hour to replace bulbs , fix a broken door handle and replace a missing remote. This quick response as a result of a phone call was much appreciated. We did feel that these were all things that housekeeping should be reporting back after each renter leaves however. The house was clean and well equipped, and just a five minute walk from the beach. We will rent this accommodation again for sure.

Simple but fantastic

House was comfortable and great location for what we needed it for. Xbob in living room did not work and the middle bedroom door knob was broken so we left the door open. We had nine guests, 5 adults and 4 children. We had plenty of room in this home.

It great location near the beach and great restaurants. It was near the Pleasure Island Pier.

Our experience was lovely. Nice and quiet and beach was near the home. Walking distance from gas station and restaurant as well. 5min drive to nearest Kroger's Store for items. Everything to us was convenient and me and my family enjoyed ourselves. Thank you

Filthy

I had such high hopes for this stay. The photos of this property are beautiful, but looks can be deceiving. This place was dusty, musty and disgustingly filthy. There was food spilled down the wall by the bar, everything was coated in dust, the counters were gross, and while playing hide and seek, my kids found a pile of animal vomit under a bed. We did not bring an animal and we have no idea how long it had been there. The yard was over grown in the front and back so no one felt comfortable hanging out in the backyard. The smoke detector in the back room was hanging off the wall and inoperable. The middle bedrooms doorknob fell off while opening the door trying to retrieve a screaming baby. The front porch is obviously decaying and was very sketchy to stand on. Walls were gross and dirty. Upon arrival, the lock boxes where the keys were located would not open with either code. Both codes emailed to me were wrong, so we had to stand outside in the heat with a 5 month old baby for 45 minutes waiting to get inside. After paying $900 for 2 nights, I feel ripped off.

This house was in a great location, and had an amazing yard, but that was about it. Upon arriving the house smelled like mold, the smell was bad enough that we had to leave go buy glad spray and then come back. The back bathtub leaked water all over the floor, and the doors to the bathroom did not shut all the way or lock. The insulation in the house was very poor as the floors and furniture was almost wet in the rain morning from humidity. Overall I was very disappointed in this house.

Horrible, filthy, roaches!

As soon as we walked in there was roaches crawling around the door. The floors were dirty, the fridge was filthy with mold and roaches, trash hanging from the fence outside, hairs in the bed. We had to clean as soon as we arrived. I called Vacasa as soon as I arrived, after holding for 45 minutes, they told me I would be refunded the cleaning fee, and that a manager would contact me to see how to proceed. I never heard from the manager. The roach problem continued throughout the stay. I emailed and called several times, each time I was promised to get a call or email from a manager and that never happened. I do not recommend staying here. This property is also listed as Castaway Cottage in Galveston.

Overall great! Wonderful location!

It was clean, family friendly and the washer and dryer in the house was a perk. The only issue we had was the dishwasher did not work and had water standing in the bottom of it that had a foul smell, but I emailed and let them know. Easy fix, that can happen anywhere. Over all an excellent stay.

Great location, everything else disappoints

The location to the beach can't be beat with a two minute walk. The home, however, left a lot to be desired. It has a strong musty scent and we had quite a problem with mosquitos. We woke up the first day covered in bites. One toilet got clogged continuously, but the plunger was broken. The microwave didn't work, there were no paper towels or trash bags. We weren't left any instructions on parking, where to take the trash, or the check out process. Dishes were dirty in the cabinets and placed on the highest shelves without access to a step stool. The minimal amount of effort was put in by the property owner, but the location is fantastic.

Communication is lacking. Trying to get the code to get in was not easy. Great location and plenty of room. After the first day it was worth renting. I am sure most was because no one rented for a while due to pandemic. May rent again once things settle.

Cute and Cozy

It was a nice little property. We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen was very well stocked for pretty much anything you would want to cook. The beds were comfortable and overall it was a nice house. However, the bathroom door locks were broken in the green bathroom which made for some awkward moments. The closets were cluttered with random things and just not very organized and it needs a good cleaning. There was a lot of standing dust on things and other dirty spots in the house. And lastly, take your own toilet paper. The paper they provide is rough. For the money I spent I would not stay again just because I’ve stayed in much nicer ones for around the same price.
