To capture one of the best views of the medieval city of Besalú, backed by the snow-capped Pyrenees, you'll need to walk slightly out of town.

From the tourist office, head across the car park in a southerly direction and take the road straight on that runs parallel to the river Fluvia. When you reach a t-junction, the right hand fork is signposted “camping,” but you’ll need to turn left. The tarmac road heads uphill. Keep following it until you reach a right hand turn that leads off into a field and towards a farmhouse. Around here is the brow of the hill and offers a stunning view down on to Besalú.

I’d recommend heading up here around 9 or 10am, in order to capture the city bathed in the early morning sunlight.

“The home is located in a very mountainous, spacious area, with loads of scenic views. My partner (and our dog) really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed working from the patio, making use of the pool and there's also many walking paths around the area if you like to stay active. The only two things I would say is that there's no AC the property did provide a few fans for our use, which was much needed & there are quite a bit of mosquitos around-- which is expected & managed quite fine :)We would 100%……

“Wir waren nur zwei Tage in der Wohnung, da der Kühlschrank schon bei unserer Ankunft gepiept hat (wahrscheinlich defekter Türsensor). Daraufhin wurde uns eine andere (viel schönere) Wohnung angeboten. Aber was man nach den ersten zwei Tage positives sagen kann ist: - super Lage (direkt zwischen See und Zentrum und unheimlich ruhig) - eigene Garage (wenn das Auto nicht höher als 1,85m ist) - sehr gut ausgestattet (wir haben nichts vermisst) - grüner Garten, Grill und Gartenhaus mit viel……

“The pictures online were amazing however the unit seemed run down and the outdoor spaces were not clean at all. Shower heads were old and clogged sinks were clogged. The management company would not respond the first day and so we did not have wifi until 11:30 the following day and it was only because we went to the management office and demanded the Wi-Fi code.
