"Overall, to me, things could’ve been a lot better for what they tried to advertise, even down to the bed sizing. Those were not true queen-size beds. I also believe that for everything that was offered, the lights barely working or flickering on and off, and us having to settle for what we got just wasn’t pleasing. Overall, like I said, the experience was what it was, and the main thing they need to do is advertise correctly. Ensure that if staff are going to be on the clock, they’re actually present and doing their job—not somewhere in a dark room doing God knows what—and make sure every room is fully prepared for the next guest. To me, we could’ve easily been placed in a different room, and the lighting issue could’ve been caught by simply turning the lights on and seeing they didn’t work. I’ll also say this—coming from out of town to receive what we did was disappointing. I’m glad it was only two of us, because adding even one more person wouldn’t have worked. Two people can’t comfortably fit in that bed, so I won’t be staying here again, and I hope they do better for the next guest."

"I called to inquire about an early check in. I understand why we couldn’t check in early however, the staff was very rude and short on the phone. The place was clean and check in was easy when we got there. The beds in the room are so hard. The room got hot at night and the air couldn’t keep up. The thermostat light was extremely bright and shined in our eyes all night. We were situated near the elevator. We heard every person coming to their rooms, all the way up until almost 3am. It was miserable since we had to wake up at 5:30am. We came back later in the morning to the restaurant. The lady working left us standing up at the front for 10 minutes before telling us she’d be with us soon. After another 5 minutes with us not being seated, we ended up leaving and going somewhere else. I don’t think I’d ever make reservations back at this hotel. "

"We had another great stay at The Cook. It is so convenient for visiting our daughter on the LSU campus. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. We absolutely love the LSU store across from the main desk. It is a hidden gem for LSU fans. The gentleman who worked there was also extremely kind and helpful. We would recommend staying at The Cook if you’re ever in the area. "
