Beautiful resort with swimming pool facing the sea. Quiet, peaceful but still close to General Luna. Rooms are all suites. Spacious, cool AC and clean. Manager Cecil looked after us very well, arranging tours and transport in a personal way.

I really liked the Retreat. My room was really a large apartment. Spacious with full length windows on two sides overlooking the sea, gardens and swimming pool. Nice restaurant area with idiosyncratic Korean inspired food. At fist I thought the room was a little rustic but that was due to customs built furniture pointed dark brown. In fact the facilities were bang up to date - separate toilet, basin and shower areas modern TV and good broadband. The beach was not really suitable for sandcastles and baying but scenic.

My wife and I had a great experience at the RETREAT RESORT. The staff was amazing, our room was spacious and very clean. We ate at the restaurant every day and the food was good. The pool was spotless. Thank you for a wonderful visit!

I don’t see myself staying here ever again. This hotel just wasn’t my vibe. The day of my arrival, I requested private transportation for the following day, December 14, 2025 (my birthday) at 9am for a tour for me and my fiancé. I didn’t get a courtesy call to inform me that the transportation had arrived. It was around 9:15am when I called the front desk to check the status of my transportation and that’s when I was informed that transportation was already at the hotel waiting for us. I was told that rooms are cleaned upon request. I requested our room to be cleaned after my fiancé and I left for our tour, but our room didn’t get cleaned till around 1:35pm after we had returned. I asked the front desk why our room wasn’t cleaned and he stated that they had to get rooms ready for new arrivals. When the front desk saw I was a bit frustrated, he immediately had someone to clean the room. Even when the cleaning crew that cleaned our room seemed to have a bit of an attitude. I asked for my room to be cleaned around 9:30am but it wasn’t cleaned until 1:35pm, and the new guests didn’t arrive sometimes around 5pm. It would have been nice to have returned to a clean room after a fun day of adventures. The morning of December 15, 2025 around 7:30am, I asked for a room clean. After returning to our room, the cleaning crew had finished cleaning, but was casually sitting on the couch talking, which was awkward to say the least.

Hotel was good, staffs were all friendly and great hospitality. But they had to charge us breakfast even though booking was included "made to order breakfast". Expedia agents didnt fix the issue and hotel staff didnt consider the hotel description was free breakfast in Expedia. So I was kinda upset about that.

Pros: The staff was super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was really good and with lots of variety. The rooms were very spacious and had a big fridge and also a water station. TVs also had Netflix. Food at the restaurant is delicious. Cons: You have to request the hotel to come clean the room, which they always do immediately, but doesn't happen by default. We didn't like the bathroom: the faucet on both the shower and the sink are full of limescale and the toilet seat feels very cheap. There isn't liquid soap either.
