The room was clean but the place is so outdated. I bet the mattresses are 20 years old. Carpet was not changed in 20 years. Bathrooms were not touched since the year 2000. The restaurant was busy. Not enough staff. We waited for the appetizers (salads) for more than an hour BUT the food was good. Anyway, if it was more updated and fancy, I would come more often.

The problem is about Expedia as I book lake view room and I paid extra for that and they told me there that they are all sold out and I got a normal room , wasting the difference that I paid - plus I found there no pool or jacuzzi

This hotel is a curiosity to me. It had a great past. It has a hard working staff and the place is falling apart. A canoe that has a seat falling apart, a pool that has been closed by health authorities, it appears that some of the buildings have roofs that need replaced and for the condition they are probably charging too much. I hope for the sake of the staff they can turn this property around. I would go back but knowing they are making progress on repairs

Avoid, avoid, avoid. We booked this hotel at the last minute. We’d seen all the terrible reviews, but we thought it couldn’t be that bad. Honestly, we didn’t even survive for 12 hours there. The bathroom was ancient and the toilet broke during the night! I was at reception by 8am having not been able to go to the toilet. Selling rooms that are not fit for purpose is unacceptable. I made this clear to the owner who was well aware of the problems. Avoid.

It’s a beautiful location but the facilities have not been well maintained over the years. The indoor and outdoor pool were not working. The common areas were somewhat old and dated and needed either a clean or a fresh coat of paint. Our room was in the newer building and was nice but was not cleaned daily. I got the impression that they were really understaffed. One gentlemen who work there was part of the maintenance crew as well as the evening entertainment! He was fantastic. However, the one good thing about this place was the staff. They were very helpful and pleasant given they were always running around doing stuff.

The hotel did not inform while we did the reservation that the spa, swimming pool, pro golf simulator were closed. Also they placed a family of four in a room for two people and claimed they had no extra room which was not true because we could availability for another room using another booking site. Service was unbearable, the facilities were dirt and not well maintained. Food was mediocre and the breakfast is to be avoided. This is a one star hotel and I am certain I will never return to this location. Expedia did not take any responsibility and was not supportive. I wish other families do not go through this experience.

This is an old established resort and it has many interesting points both property and building wise. However you can detect a slight musty (old) smell once you enter the lobby and the rooms which took away some of the expected excitement of staying here. Some parts are starting to show their age and will need replacing I imagine. The rainy day did not help to show its splendor of long ago. We did not get to enjoy the amenities as we were at a family function most of our day and we departed early next day.

The location of the hotel is fantastic and the access to lake and walking distance to town was perfect. The hotel is definitely in need of some repairs although as it’s an older building it adds to the character. The grounds are lovely, room was comfortable and the breakfast was great. Two negatives - with a Lakeview room you can barely see the lake so I wouldn’t advise to pay extra for it. Also we were in the older part of the building and we had no hot water for showers the 2nights of our stay. We did contact the front desk and were advised the manager would be in touch to come up with a solution and no one ever did. Customer service does not seem to be a priority as other people had the same issues with lack of response to their concerns
