The room is new renovated by wood. The hotel is less guest so really good for relaxation. Food is tasty and staff is really helpful. Hope can come back again.
A cozy homey ryokan just 3-minute walk from the Gero train station, the location is excellent. The meals were delicious and the service was impeccable. The room, however, was a little dated. The insulation wasn’t good so it could be a little chilly at night when it was snowing outside. The outdoor onsen was enjoyable. I will definitely come back next time I visit Gero.
This is my first time visiting Gero and experiencing an onsen. Mutsumikan's location is very easy to find—it's really close to the JR station. They provided excellent service and spoke English well. The onsen instructions were clear, too.
It's a great choice if you speak English and are trying an onsen for the first time with friendly budget.
We enjoyed our stay for 2 nights. The kaiseki was delicious, onsen was relaxing but what made our stay special is the staff who welcomed us. Definitely, worth the stay.
