The Rock Hotel

"The hotel is good but the rooms looked much bigger and nicer in the photos! Our room was quite disappointing with tired decor, a shower which soaked the floor and a bath which didn’t work. Plus the wifi didn’t work. So based on the room I probably wouldn’t stay again, especially because it’s not cheap. But the rest of the hotel was nice with a lovely bar and terrace restaurant, a decent breakfast buffet and friendly, helpful staff. There is a great pool which can only be accessed by crossing a busy road, but it’s a welcome haven in the heat and has a little garden area and bar. The hotel is well located close to the nature reserve and the town."

"The room was modern and had all we needed. The spa was amazing. We didn’t have the breakfast as we went to the supermarket down the road and cooked our own breakfast. The location is good for the airport 10 min walk and a 15 min walk to the main square for shops and restaurants. Also 15 mins walk to marina area. Road outside is busy and very windy at times. The only one negative is that the wind causes a whistle noise through the apartment not sure if this is through some kind of vent maybe. It was quite annoying at night when trying to sleep. It didn’t bother my son so maybe just that I am more sensitive to annoying noises !"

"I don’t normally leave reviews, but the apartment was amazing. The host left a bottle of wine and other amenities which was a very nice touch and much appreciated. The room was missing toilet roll accidentally and as soon as I messaged this was rectified immediately. I will definitely be staying here again. Great location - Morrisons, McDonald’s, coffee shops etc all walking distance. 15min walking distance from the main city centre as well."

"Lovely apartment suite. Would easily suit a couple. Has a full kitchen with oven and microwave and fridge-freezer. Room is on the twelfth floor, and so away from the noise of the traffic, when the patio door is closed. Lovely view of the Rock and the sunset. Within walking distance of the airport and the town centre, but then most things in Gibraltar are! Would happily stay again."

"An absolutely amazing apartment on the 14th floor of the E1 (20 floor) complex. Very clean with two fully functioning aircon units (bedroom and living room). As you enter, nice shower and toilet, with two sinks and opposite in a cupboard is a washing machine. Then the double bed with wardrobe storage and TV, and then kitchen and living area comprising sofa, dining table, TV, dishwasher, microwave, oven/hob and numerous cupboards fully stocked with essentials to make your stay enjoyable. Apartment is situated about a 20 minute walk from the airport and town, and only 5 minutes from Eastern Beach. Exceptional communications before and during the stay, would recommend this to anyone travelling to Gibraltar."
