One very confusing experience is they never mentioned an actual couple lives on-site and are the hosts. They came by when we got there and were very kind and accommodating. It just would have been helpful to know they would be there. The listing said it was entirely self check-in. "

"Fantastic clean, modern, well appointed studios in the Comporta area! Short, reasonable drive to town and the beaches on a very quit and well maintained property with nice staff. A bit of communication hiccups booking last minute through VRBO, but Nuno on site was very responsive and helpful once we got directly connected.
