Our stay was not good. Check in went fine, and staff was friendly. But then we walked to our room, not going to skip the fact we had to haul a family of 5s bags and things up stairs because the hotel doesn’t have an elevator. As soon as we opened the door to our room we were hit in the face with cigarette smell. We walked straight back to the counter to ask for a different room. They apologized. We got a new room on the bottom floor, walked in the room. Same problem. The smell was especially strong in the bathroom as if one of the cleaning staff JUST smoked in it. So we just dealt with it and left the bathroom fan on all day and overnight, which helped. The rooms condition wasn’t the best. Bathtub could have used a better cleaning, the carpets had dust in the corners, and the toilet behind the seat wasn’t clean. Moving onto breakfast. It was good, and staff was friendly. A lot of different choices to choose from and the omelettes were a hit with our family. After explaining to the staff about cleanliness and smell, they didn’t offer any refund or discounts. They simply said they could not do anything about it and would not refund our money if we chose to stay with a different hotel.
