「We were in town for a wedding and booked The Captains Quarters. We had a great stay and enjoyed the location - so fun to watch the boats come in and just a short walk into town. The place was clean and comfortable and the hosts were great. Thanks for sharing your place with us!」

「Property manager canceled my stay with no notice. I had already driven a great distance to be there. Took several days for them to issue the refund despite the fact that they canceled the reservation same day. Actually they told me I had to cancel the reservation on my end. I assume this was so they would still get the money from the reservation, but I called to cancel it and explain the situation. Long story short don’t book here.」

「The property was nice but full of insects my kids didn’t want to sleep there. 」

「We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here ! The loft apartment was very clean and well appointed with everything we could need. The apartment was more spacious than I expected. Just a short walk down the yard to the small beach and dock, and we spent great hours kayakng and just sitting on the beach. Kristine and Scott were very friendly, helpful and great to get to know a little. We will definitely be looking to visit and stay there again 」

「Enjoyed our stay. Great, quiet location. Parking was challenging on occasion, but doable. Easy access to the building, although the key fob went missing once, it was resolved quickly. Per the previous comments, I was aware the sofa bed wouldn't be the most comfortable for sleeping, but we made do just fine. Communication was excellent. Enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay.」

「My daughter and I stayed for three nights for her basketball tournament. It was more spacious and quieter than the busy hotels and convenient to everything in Newport News and a quick 10-min ride to Hampton. Very clean, fun decor, and the kitchen had what we needed for a few simple meals. Shower, washer and dryer all worked well. "The property itself is quite good—newly renovated facilities, a convenient location, and a nice free breakfast. It’s easy to see why it has a 9.0 rating and overall, it’s worth it. However, I was assigned a room right next to the ice machine and emergency exit. I checked in late at night and didn’t realize the potential for noise. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn’t mention anything about it, even though I was traveling with kids. Starting as early as 6 a.m., guests began walking around for breakfast, some trying to open the emergency exit—which triggered a loud alarm. The real issue started after 7 a.m, when the emergency exit began functioning as a regular door. Guests continuously came in and out, causing the door to slam shut every 2–3 minutes. The loud banging made it impossible to rest. It was truly exhausting and disrupted our rest completely. Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the main reasons to stay at a nice hotel, and sadly, that didn’t happen here. All in all, this property is ok—but if you're assigned room 126, 128, or any room near the emergency exit, request a room change to avoid a similar experience. "

"唯一的優點是房間很大，房內設施比較老舊，我們連住3晚，不會有每天清潔服務，浴巾也不會每日更換（如果要換浴巾需要加錢），早上10點退房（房卡10點失效，但是之前沒有告知，我們差點被鎖在門外），退房前需要自己把所有使用的餐具放到洗碗機內清洗，垃圾需要自行拿到外面的垃圾收集區域丟（這地點也沒有事先告知），退房前30分鐘我們一直在做家事收拾…… 基本上，我們下次是不會再考慮住這"
