“This is an exceptional boutique hotel, simply one of the best stays we have had ever. A lovely property, each room (and we stayed in a couple) is distinct. All modern amenities, beautifully renovated property in Goa-Portugese style gives the feeling of an opulent home. What makes it exceptional is the service - the team are faultless, were there for our every need - need something off the menu? another towel? a pen? print something? arrange a taxi? provide local guidance? eat early? eat late?……

“We didn’t want to stay in a big hotel chain, neither did we want to stay in beach shacks or risk an unknown place. Casa Colvale was a great discovery based on Trip Advisor reviews. Located far away from the hustle & bustle of Goa, Casa Colvale is set in idyllic surroundings, on the bank of the Chapora river. Designed more like a huge bungalow, rather than a hotel, it has large open areas on each floor for sitting & dining, large verandahs, terrace and large spacious rooms & bathrooms with all……

“It's perfect But a little be too far from the city centre”

“Perhaps by Goan standards this place is good, but despite its picture-postcard setting, I think it’s over-priced and lacking basic facilities. My room was lacking some obvious amenities including a fridge, bath mat, hair dryer, tissues, phone. All pretty standard for a “3+ star” hotel, even in India, no? Towels supplied aren’t of good quality and have ‘marks’ meaning they don’t look clean even if they have been washed. Bed linen and table cloths had holes and dirty marks too. Poor tea and……

“Emmm, it's quite difficult to describe the experience. At first it seems ok for the location. But the room is much smaller than the picture shows. And you cannot see the beach from the window. Most important, the WIFI is not working at all. Even mobile signal is weak in the room.”
