We knew this would be a no- frills place with a shared washroom and communal kitchen. However, I did expect to have a reasonably warm shower and electricity. We had neither. They only put on the generator intermittently (are we in a war zone?). Nice young girl greets us, but otherwise no staff seen. She mostly seems to sit on the porch on her phone. Place feels abandoned.
So to be fair- pros: beautiful setting, close to Yo-Ho, cool old building, with LOTS of potential, bed reasonably comfortable and pretty clean. Dog friendly, cute resident cat. Kitchen offered use of appliances and dishes, silverware with generator
Cons: grounds not maintained, shabby outbuildings, spotty electricity for our electric cooler for our food.
Also no hot water at all- very lovely cold drinking water- not suitable for hygiene.
Mosquitoes came in from holes in floor. We couldn’t sleep and were eaten alive.
Room tiny- nowhere to put suitcase- dogbed took up the minimal floorspace.
Our timid dog got attacked (not injured) by a loose dig on property.
Would not recommend unless desperate.
