Freshly renovated non-smoking apartment on the upper floor of a 130-year-old half-timbered house. The house is a listed building - like almost all buildings in Goslar's old town and is part of a group monument.
The apartment is located in the eastern part of the old town. It is a 5 to 10 minute walk to the market square.
A fully equipped kitchen, one or two bathrooms with shower, a bedroom and a living room are available for a few relaxing days in Goslar.
The exterior of the house still needs some renovation work, but the apartment on the upper floor has been completed and ready for occupancy since November 2023.
The apartment has been lovingly renovated using natural building materials such as clay and hemp and furnished in a modern style with respect for the original structures.
The generously proportioned bedroom faces the inner courtyard and is furnished with a king-size bed. In the living room, the old half-timbering is shown to its best advantage. Here you can make yourself comfortable on the couch or spend convivial evenings at the large dining table. The couch serves as additional sleeping accommodation for 2 people.
The kitchen is perfectly tailored to the small space and offers everything you need for cooking. One of the bathrooms is accessed through the kitchen. The second bathroom is located on the top floor and is only included in the booking if there are more than two guests or on request. Both bathrooms are equipped with WC and shower.
Please leave your street shoes on the landing in front of the apartment to protect the delicate wooden floor. The landing belongs to the apartment and is for your use only. Your jackets and umbrellas can also be stored here. We will provide you with slippers for your stay, which you are welcome to take with you on departure.
On arrival, a guest contribution per adult per night needs to be paid to the town of Goslar.
On site you will receive a personalized guest card with which you can take advantage of various discounts.
The original charm of the house is also accentuated by the numerous crooked corners and nooks. Depending on the wind and weather, you can hear the beams of the half-timbered house cracking. For your own safety, please always use the handrail on the stairs, as the steps here are also individually aligned.
The wooden windows must be opened outwards in accordance with the preservation order and must be secured with a window hook so that the wind does not slam them open and shut uncontrollably when they are open.
There are also three unfinished rooms in the attic next to the 2nd bathroom. Only enter the rooms that have already been completed.
Just two houses down the road you will find a pizzeria that bakes its pizzas in a wood-fired oven.
Down the street, about 220m away, is the Bachmann bakery, which serves fresh bread rolls for a delicious breakfast from 05:30. Unfortunately, it will close at the end of 2023.
The Ullrichsche Garten is located right next to Bäcker Bachmann and is a great place to relax in the fresh air.
Laundromats are located in Breiten Straße or Petersilienstraße, 400m away.
There is an Edeka supermarket about 550m away.
The city center, main train station and central bus station are within 5-10 minutes walking distance.
An indoor swimming pool is about 10 minutes away on foot.
