On the Gota Canal in Sweden. There is a hostel where people coming on land and boat can go. It is charming and nice. Thanks for the night and breakfast. This was taken at night around 2200. Boat waiting to go pass the lock in the morning. #Waterlust

"Maritiman" ship museum, Gothenburg harbour.

This is at "Packhuskajen", just a short walk along the kay from the opera. "Maritiman" was recently awarded the "Certificate of Excellence" from TripAdvisor for the second consecutive year.

The tall ship "Viking" is permanently anchored here, and serves as a hotel now. The oddly looking house is called "The Lipstick" (Läppstiftet) - guess why...! There is a lookout point at the top there, where you can get "a tremendous view over Gothenburg, the harbour, and the archipelago" Quote from arrivalguides.com - a sight I didn´t even know about until just now - but where there´s a lot of good information to be found in English, so do check it out!

In the background you can see parts of "Götaälvsbron", which is connecting the center of Gothenburg to the island "Hisingen" where the city continues.

The Opera is just to the left (but not in the photo), and just a bit further to the right side of this picture you find "Östra Nordstan". This is a large shopping mall where you can find a Tourist Information Center, lots of parking, and free wifi (for one hour, according to www.nordstan.se)
