"What a wonderful place!! Sam was there to welcome us and with a large, multiage family we were never short of things to do. The movie room kept the teenagers happily gaming away and the pool kept the little ones cool. We enjoyed meals on the patio and a well stocked kitchen with excellent air conditioning in every room. "Our stay inside the walled medieval city of Carcassonne was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, everything was beautiful — the atmosphere, the architecture, and the feeling of stepping back in time. Staying inside La Cité felt like living in a medieval story, surrounded by the 12th‑century church and castle just steps away. The hotel staff were fantastic, and the manager truly stood out. Every morning, he made his rounds, inspecting the property, ensuring everything was spotless, and personally greeting guests as they checked in. His presence and dedication showed how much pride he takes in running the hotel, and it made our stay feel even more special. The private pick‑up from the airport directly to the castle was an experience of a lifetime — a perfect start to an unforgettable visit. Our room was beautiful, the amenities were excellent, and the location simply cannot be matched. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was wonderful, with great food and warm service. Overall, our experience was unmatched compared to any other stay. This hotel gave us memories we will carry forever. Thank you!"

"As per previous reviews, this property was a great place to stay. It's smack bang in Portsmouth Harbour and right next to the bus station and Gosport ferry so couldn't be more convenient if that's your goal. It is a very urban location but a nice view of the harbour on one side but the bus station on the other. Breakfast was included in the rate and Excellent! Even the coffee was great (and having just returned from France, UK coffee is normally a step down). Unlike many properties like this, there's a proper lift which is a godsend if you have heavy bags as I did. Overall Recommended"

"Staff in reception very friendly. We had an apartment which was clean and had everything we needed although could do with an update, but for the reasonable price we paid it was good. 10 min walk to the medievil city and only a 2 min walk to main road for bus stops to modern city, shopping complex and Lake Cavayere which had a lovely small beach to have a swim. 30 min walk to the train station. Indoor pool was nice and refreshing after a day's sightseeing."

"We were given a really warm welcome plus a map with recommendations of where we could eat our evening meal, which were all excellent. The breakfast buffet cost €13 and was well worth the money as there was plenty of choice of drinks and food - including eggs, cheese, ham, yoghurt and different fresh seasonal fruits. We have no hesitation in recommending this charming old hotel."

"The hotel is situated in a fantastic location, a stone’s throw from the medieval citie. I stayed in room 4 on the ground floor of the hotel for a 3 night trip. The room was beautiful and well equipped with coffee machine, water, air conditioning, bath and shower. The staff were friendly and very helpful throughout our visit. A big thank you to the night porter for my birthday drink. I would definitely recommend and visit again."
