Family Girls Weekend Birthdays Getaway

The house and property are beautiful and only 15 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids. Carolynn was nice to leave the pool open late September with the weather being so hot! We had a wonderful time!

It was ok

The good: lots of beds, pool was great, the idea of a game room was cool The bad: i contacted the host about check in instructions and didnt get a response, luckily i figured it out on my own, there was no book with all the info like clean up info or wifi, the beds were hard, someone was at the home just before us. Towels left by the pool and bathroom, cumbs on video games, pet bowls with water left out, the basement creeped us out and the basement couch had stains so wedidnt utilize it

I really enjoyed having the advantages and activities the Beach House provided me and my Nephews. The Pool was really nice and had wonderful floating devices. The Lower basement area was fixed to enjoy with card table and arcade room(it's a little outdated, but still very much fun for the younger ones) The House essentials WERE MORE THAN YOU COULD OR WOULD EVER EXPECT......... OVER THE TOP....... YOU GUYS ROCKED IT. ALMOST NOTHING THAT YOU WOULD NEED WAS NOT PROVIDED BY THE CLIENT. THEY TOOK GREAT PERSONAL CARE IN MEETING AND MAINTAINING YOUR COMFORTS. ALL QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS WERE ANSWERED WITHIN MINUTES VIA TEXT MESSAGE. I EVEN LEARNED ON THE GRASS GRILL HOW TO BARBEQUE!!! THE BATHROOMS WERE THEMED TO DETAIL AND NICE OVERALL. Still had some work around the tub but very usable. LOL I EVEN LOVED THE AIR FRESHENER YOU GUYS PUT IN THE LOWER BATHROOM....... TOTALLY EXCELLENT CHOICE!!!!! PLENTY OF POOL TOWELS. SCreened in porch was very nice and helpful for additional seating. LOTS OF CHAIRS SURROUNDING THE POOL AREA TO SIT AND RELAX IN..... THEY EVEN HAD SUNSCREEN JUST IN CASE YOU FORGOT YOURS!!!! AS YOU CAN SEE I HAVE WAY MORE GOOD AND THANKFUL COMMENTS ABOUT THIS VIRBO. I LOOK TO BOOK AGAIN NEXT YEAR A LITTLE EARLIER IN AUGUST TO ATTEND A FAMILY REUNION. My only keynote to anyone looking to book is that you request a FLEE BATH TREATMENT before your stay. I did have a Moderate to heavy infestation problem mainly within the bedroom areas. THAN YOU SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!

Fun, cozy home with a beautiful pool

This home was cozy and comfortable. The pool was perfect and the outdoor space was a wonderful gathering space for our friends. The owner was easy to get in contact with and they were extremely accommodating.

Cleanliness is very lacking

There was a flea infestation and we had to leave our stay early. The showers are filled with mold and mildew. The property was cute but the cleanliness just was not there. The host was very professional and helpful.

Waste of money

On the day of check-in I was to receive the code for the door. I did not. Instead I received a call from the maintenance man asking me to turn off the hose to the pool. I said I’m not even there yet. So I guess he had to go over there and take care of it. Meanwhile we continued trying to reach homeowner for door code. After hours of no response we had to call the maintenance guy for the code. Strike one. Arriving at the house we found packages on the porch which we carried inside for the homeowner. But once inside we were hit with a horrific moldy smell that had us covering our faces. We actually decided right then that we would not be staying, so we carried our belongings back out to the car and left for our event. However, our event lasted longer than expected and we needed to spend the night in town, so we grudgingly went back to the house to sleep. We were inside the house for 5 hours and suffered congestion and headaches from it. Also, side note I don’t believe the bedding was washed and there was actual trash in the kitchen cabinets, and food left on a cook top. The backyard pool area was filthy - toys and lifejackets thrown everywhere. I paid $550 because I saw great reviews for this house. I hope my honest review saves someone from getting scammed the way we did. Before submitting this review I contacted the homeowner about my visit. It’s been two weeks and I’ve received no response. I’m not surprised.
