“This hotel is great but you need to have a car as this hotel does not serve dinner and you need to drive 5-10 minutes to nearby restaurants in Inverness. The hotel is inside a small farm and I can see cattle from the window of my room, I love it. The hotel has put out devices in the garden to feed the birds. You can see birds flying around while eating breakfast which is fun. Breakfast is great!”

“We can’t even start to tell you how much we enjoyed our visit with both Deidre and Alastair. Our daily adventures were filled with explorations and adventures that we will never forget. Leaving this morning was like leaving family and we can’t wait to plan our next trip back again. Today was simply magical, as Alastair described. It is something that will be hard to explain to those back home and pictures don’t even begin to capture what we saw. Truly magical. We thank you both from the bottom……

“James and Angela are amazing hosts. We had a great room, immaculate in fact. Their breakfasts were delicious and plentiful, a great start to active days of touring. We highly recommend the The Mardon House and hope to return and stay there again one day!”

“The bedroom, being upstairs, was very warm. Opening the window only helped a little. We had to open a skylight window which exposed us to possible rain. We were expecting breakfast, since the website and emails indicated it would be served, but none was provided. This caused us issues with our schedule since we had to go find food. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathroom was nice.”

“Nice house in an ideal location to enjoy the local area. We stayed for a week and the location was great for a some exellent walking, cycling and relaxing. The house is well equipped, warm, comfortable and clean, it has the added bonuis of a lockable outhouse which was good for storing bikes. Grantown is just along the road with a good range of shops, cafes and other facilities. Aviemore slighly further afield for a larger shops and amenties. Overall a throughouly enjoyable stay and……
