Wedding in Connemara .

We stayed at Oak Lodge while attending our son’s wedding . Everything was excellent. So comfortable n clean . Hope to return again sometime to enjoy the comfort of such a lovely house . Breathe taking scenery and we had lovely weather. Florence .

Perfect location

Four words: perfect house, perfect holidays! We had a wonderful time there. Bright, nicely furnished house, great kitchen, lots of crockery and accessories, comfortable beds. Beautiful views. Quiet. With a car about 10 min to pubs, restaurants, beaches. Just one small blemish: the low water pressure in the shower and bathroom should be improved.

Wonderful house in a great location and pet-friendly too!

We stayed in Oak Lodge for a week in March 2024 and it is a lovely home to stay in. Everythign was clean and the instructions for operating everythign were clear. There was only two of us, plus our border collie so the house was big for our needs. Being dog-friendly, together with location is one of the reasons we chose Oak Lodge. It's a great base for a holiday in Connemara. There are so many things to do that are not far away, lots of great beaches and forest trails. Waking up to the stunning countryside is somethign I will never get used to. Highly recommended

Felt immediately at home

I liked the house and felt immediately at home in it. It's comfortable, welcoming, beautifully located, and warm when the outdoors isn't. My stay included a visit by Storm Ashley to the entire west coast and when the power went out for six hours, along with most of the internet, and followed eventually by the rest of the internet and the phone, the owners' attentiveness meant everything. I had a lovely week and highly recommend Oak Lodge. (And just a note: There are reviews here complaining about the water pressure. It's ordinary rural water pressure, perfectly adequate, much like mine in my own Canadian village. Maybe people who want city amenities and endless WiFi would be happier on an urban vacation?)

Lovely cottage in a beautiful setting

We found the holiday cottage easily from the directions given, though the eircode just took us to Letterfrack. The cottage was cosy and well equipped. Everything we needed and we enjoyed the books and dvds there. The caretaker was easily contacted on WhatsApp and really helpful.

Charming spacious cottage

We especially liked the open kitchen / dinning area and the views on the lake. Water pressure on the shower is sometimes a bit challenging. But nothing that one could not deal with. Apart from that, a really pleasant place to be.

Amazing week in Connemara

We loved our week at Oak Lodge. The cottage was very comfortable and equipped with fantastic views, in a lovely, quiet location. Letterfrack nearby was handy for almost anything you need, with bigger shops a short drive away in Clifden. There's loads to go and visit in the area. In fact, we need a return visit to see more!

We had an amazing week in beautiful Connemara. The beaches, mountains, lakes, villages. Playing with the dog and family on stunning beaches, kayaking, hiking, music session in Cleggan, trip to Inishboffin, Clifden, Roundstone. Wow. We'll be back! G

A wonderful retreat

Have been coming to stay in and around Clifden for a few years now. We love the area but were looking for a quiet retreat away from busy Cleggan. Oak Lodge was exactly what we wanted. Everything you could want is there and our dog Charlie was very happy with all the lovely walks from the house. A short drive in the car and he was in the sea for a paddle! Only downside was that my daughter and her partner had the twin beds downstairs and they found the mattresses uncomfortable.

Lovely cottage but had some issues

We spent 10 days over Christmas in this delightful cottage with lots of room for entertaining and great views however there were some fundamental problems during our stay. There was no wifi or TV when we arrrived as there was a dangerous outside electrical socket full of water that kept tripping part of the house. We managed to "botch it" for our stay however no electrician was forthcoming. The poor water pressure, which has also been mentioned in several previous reviews, really does need attention and an electric shower would make a huge improvement. Luckily we have relatives nearby so ended up showering there. Lots of rules and regs regarding heating, wifi, log burners and not enough crockery or glassware and unfortunately the dishwasher broke down whilst we were there and it could not be resuscitated!!

Herrliche Lodge

Die herrliche Lodge mit dem schönen Garten liegt zwischen Clifden, Cleggan und Letterfrack an einem See inmitten grüner Wiesen mit Pferde, Schafen und Rindern. Das Meer ist nicht weit weg und die Pubs mit guter Musik und die Restaurants sind leicht und schnell erreichbar. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und weitere Kulturangebote gibt es genügend. Die nahen Strände sind einmalig. Die Tierwelt lädt zu Beobachungen ein, am nahen am Wasser gelegenen Friedhof mit dem berühmten Gogarty Grab wachsen herrliche Brombeeren. Hier kann man sich erholen!!!!

Super cottage

Nous avons passé un très bon sejour dans le Connemara. La cottage est très bien situé pour visiter la région. La vue est magnifique sur le lac, montagne et les moutons. Il est très bien équipé pour les vacances en famille. Le contact avec l'agence de location etait parfaite. Nous recommandons cette location.

A property with a view

We enjoyed the peaceful location of this property with its wonderful views across the lake and mountains beyond. However, although the property was generally comfortable we did have some niggles. The low water pressure meant that showers were more of a mission than a pleasurable experience. The bathrooms and the kitchen were clean but there was a lot of dust and dead insects that hadn’t been dealt with. There is clearly a great deal to see in the area and so we were a little disappointed that there was very limited information on hand in the property. Hopefully, this can be addressed for the benefit of future gifts.

Lovely cottage

We really enjoyed our stay, the house is light and airy, well-insulated and thoughtfully furnished and well-equipped. The situation and outlook were delightful. We felt very lucky to have chosen it and would love to come again.

Very nice quiet place, closed to cities, in perfect conditions & all you can need to have a good stay !!
