"We loved our stay at Effect Lodge. Our room overlooked the back side of the property, including the pool. Great views and an open feel in our large room. The host was so gracious and helpful. She recommended public transportation for our visit to Old Lyon, and it worked out perfectly. She also provided direction in getting our laundry taken care of. In many ways, staying at Effect felt like being at home. Highly recommend this property!"

"‘This is not a hotel’ is the first thing the hostess told us when she first called. The villa indeed is their own home and this is made very clear during our stay. The hostess treated our kids as a strict schoolteacher and to top it all off at the end of the evening also yelled upstairs that we were playing with the heating, which we were not. In the Summer this place might be nicer with the outside pool but in the winter this would not be suitable for a family vacation. Price and quality do...

"The communication was difficult - the owner did phone once, but we were cut off. The property is untidy, pool is green and tennis court has had no use for years. Offered extra rooms, after the sleeping arrangements were terrible, we were then threatened to be billed extra to VRBO, somehow... The rooms had uncomfortable beds and barely a sheet on them, and towels were hard and ancient. Two cots were inadequate for adult use and the room had massive cobwebs everywhere. Breakfast was scant and...

"Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans la chambre "La Brindille", joliment décorée et bien aménagée. Quel bonheur de pouvoir profiter de la piscine chauffée, de la table de ping-pong, des chemins dans les vignes... Les planches repas sont copieuses et délicieuses. Le vin est excellent. "Very convenient location for the main station. More a business hotel than a tourist hotel. Only one lift servicing the 32 nd floor reception for some of our stay - not acceptable. Hotel public areas often very busy with business conferences/meetings. Little sense of service - everything had a price tag associated with it."

"The manager was absolutely outstanding and helpful on our arrival and then again on our departure-he went beyond the call of duty walking outside to give us directions as an example. Our room safe was not working properly when we arrived and a maintenance person showed up and fixed the problem in under 20 minutes Great location in the center of town. A nice terrace bar where we also had breakfast an added bonus"

"We had a room on the 4 th floor, windows were facing the city, it was spectacular view. Old fashioned door knobs, very neoclassical atmosphere with modern beds and bathrooms. It was very French ambiance. Maybe outside was not the best view when exiting the hotel but proximity to metra, trains no one can beat! Sound isolation is excellent, I never heard any outside noise."
