The hotel used to be a warehouse. It was converted to a hotel somewhat more than ten years ago. It is directly across from the port and the ferry landing and right in the center of the main town on the island (Hermoupolis). Everything you might wish to indulge in Hermoupolis is within easy walking distance. My room was ample, peaceful and very well-apportioned.

We were offered a room at front of hotel with double aspect sea/city views or a room to the rear. The latter was bigger and had better shower but as we were only staying one night to be near the early ferry departure point we went for the view. No need to worry about traffic of ferry noise - all windows were double glazed and properly sound insulated. We loved watching the action in the port from the best possible seats. Unfortunately, we had to leave at 6:15 before breakfast started.

My room was even better than expected. Very spacious. The bed was comfortable. There was a nice couch area, a desk area, lounge area. Plenty of windows. I had a corner room with views of the port and sea and the strip along the water. Ive never had a hotel room with so many windows. It was amazing. The hallways, stairway, lobby, and dining area are beautiful and much detail was paid attention to. I highly recommend staying here when in Syros.

Great location. Very comfortable.
The hotel has a luxurious feel in the rooms. Everything is done to a high standard and is extremely comfortable. I had a balcony overlooking the ferry which could be a little noisy at times, but there are thick solid wooden shutters for the windows which keeps out a lot of road noise. There’s a bar and food is available (didn’t eat so can’t comment on food). The location is excellent for access to everything, ferry across the road and restaurants along the harbour wall.

Good port location
Hotel was ok. Location was great, right by where the ferries dock and close to all the port restaurants and bars. Room was small. Bathroom was really small. If you’re sitting on the toilet, the sink is practically in your face. The shower was so small, I didn’t shower my last morning there and showered on the next island. Breakfast was decent. 24 hour reception took care of my wake up call and taxi needs.

Great building and location
Very clean and well preserved classical building. Prices are great (at least the off-season ones). Nothing too fancy when it comes to room size or breakfast, but pretty much exactly what’s needed. Rooms with harbour view tend to be noisy but have a great view.

Great room with a view of the harbour.
I loved the room and the location, but the breakfast was not impressive with cold eggs and cold bacon. The internett in the lobby was extremely slow. I spent half an hour fixing something I could have done in five minutes with a good connection.

Our room was crazy hot, the A/C did nothing. Smoking in hallways was kind of annoying too, but hey it's Europe. Barebones hotel but in a decent location. We got the hotel because our boat trip was cut short due to inclement weather.

Η εμπειρία μου από το ξενοδοχείο ήταν εκπληκτική. Τα δωμάτια αλλά και όλο το ξενοδοχείο έχουν μια minimal yet elegant αισθητική. Το δωμάτιο μου ήταν γωνιακό με μεγάλα παράθυρα και υπέροχη θέα στο λιμάνι. Πολύ ωραίο πρωινό και όλο το προσωπικό χαμογελαστό και πολύ εξυπηρετικό. Το μόνο μείον για εμένα είναι ότι δεν είναι pet-friendly.

Friendly, well-appointed waterfront hotel
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel, positioned a mere hand's-breadth away from ferry disembarkation and within easy walking distance of the centre of charming Ermoupoli. Very pleasant and quiet environment, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. The room was compact but quite comfortable. Buses to everywhere right next door. Good for the price. Breakfast buffet fairly standard - could have been a little more imaginative perhaps. Strolling out in the evening to one of the waterfront restaurants was a huge pleasure. Very, very pretty location.

Good hotel in nice location near harbourw
We stayed overnight on a shopping trip . The hotel was easy to find opposite the harbour with parking Our sea view room was well appointed with nice linen. Three big windows gave good views the windows were double glazed and had indoor shutters so you hear no outside noise . The bathroom though small was adequate and modern with usual toiletries. Our view ,we think the hotel could remove plastic shower curtain and leave as walk in wet room and a hang the shower head on a wall hook would be easier for customer use . The room and hotel areas were exceptionally clean and tastefully decorated . All the staff were extremely helpful and appeared to be happy in their work this was from front of house to breakfast staff . There is on offer in reception area a free night cap and a traditional sweet ,a nice touch . Now we come to breakfast with two nice eating areas to choose from again very clean and pleasant staff The big let down for us was the quality on offer, this was a buffet style ,my husband reported the cereals awful and the juices for a breakfast selection most unusual and not really juice , we were inthe land of oranges why not just serve that and forget the cheap substitute? The hot buffet though plugged in offered up cold mushrooms , sausages , cold fried eggs yuk !!! Oddly the spinach pie was warm as were the boiled eggs . Would we recommend here , YES but for the price we paid and the 4 stars it advertises we felt the breakfast was disappointing.

All-round excellent hotel - highly recommended
Everything was fantastic. The room was clean, modern and a good size with nice amenities. Our room had a beautiful view of the port and the Aegean beyond. The staff were exceptional, very polite and professional. Always ready to help, nothing was too much trouble. We had an incident with the wall mounted hairdryer not working, they gave us a standard one in the meantime and brought in an electrician to fit a new one the very morning. Couldn’t fault the service. Breakfast was very nice and tasty, good quality food with lots of variety. It’s close to everything, very close for getting a ferry or a bus, or for going into the town centre for shopping, eating, drinking and entertainment. The main beaches are a short bus ride away, although you can walk to one in the town. Everything about our stay was fantastic, we would go back any time and highly recommend Diogenis Hotel if you are planning a trip to Syros.
