Kumara Historic Cottages - Hostel
At the time of writing, this hotel has a 9.2 on Expedia. That is truly absurd. This hotel is old (they don’t call it “historic” for nothing) and run down (featuring peeling wallpaper, a saggy matress, threadbare carpet and a kitchen that looks like it was built in the 80s). Nestled on the cycle trail
I thought it was a 3 bedroom or had 3 beds. There were 2 beds and a futon. We ended up using the futon in the living room instead. We didn’t find the indoor trash bin until we were leaving, because it was outside. Other than that, it was very clean and the price was great.

Shining Star Beachfront Accommodation
Friendly staff. The room is clean, tidy and the bed is comfortable. Sadly the motel WiFi didn't work from inside the room, and the heater didn't heat up properly.
