A beautiful water setting, 1/2 miles from the naval sub base and conveniently located by Groton, New London, and Mystic. Wonderful hiking trails near by.

Very responsive host. Wall of windows and covered patio with astounding view of the River Thames. Perfect for a weekend hideaway. Perfect spot, great host and lovely home…we’ll be back!

Girls trip

Friends stayed for the weekend to see Mystic and the beach. Easy drive to both. Some cute things to see in Groton. Great visit and comfy spot for a girl's trip!

Fabulous location - clean and comfy!

We had tickets to see Rod Stewart at Mohican Sun. All of the hotels were booked and over $1000 a night. I found this place and it was perfect! Clean comfortable and in a beautiful location. Would highly recommend!

Beautiful and Comfortable

Beautiful view of sunsets and comfortable space. Great outside seating for watching water and boats. Close to beaches, Mystic and Mohegan Sun. Highly recommend.

Amazing place with a gorgeous view

very spacious and comfortable area. the view was amazing, especially during the sunset. An easy ride to local entertainments such as the casinos. overall great place and worth it!

Lovely View

Location was great for our travels to Mystic and to Foxwoods Casino and Mohegan Sun. Views were great as we saw sailboats and others enjoying the water. It was a bit chilly for the time of year to enjoy the patio amd grill. Plenty of space and beds were comfortable. Hope to return during warmer weather.

Perfect getaway

The host, George lives on site and was very friendly and helpful without imposing. The rental had more than enough space and beds as there was just the two of us. The first day we saw a submarine go by and later a train, Beautiful sunsets

Beautiful space, amazing view. It was a shame that we had to arrive late and leave so early in the morning that we couldn't enjoy the space to its full capacity. We look forward to returning on a more leisurely schedule.

Large family renting

Home and property are very nice. 2 minutes from the submarine and naval base. 15 minutes from mystic aquarium. Easy access to local stores. Owner was very nice. Train went by at 10pm and 2 am the days we were there. Overall, a very a nice place.

Perfect spot

My family spent four nights here over the weekend my son repirted in for swab summer at the Coast Guard Academy. Having zero familiarity with CT (we're from Detroit) we were very pleasantly surprised upon arrival with the location right on the river with spectacular views and with the amazing updated condition of the rental itself. The value is incredible. We even got to see a sub going by. George is an awesome owner and made us feel so welcome. It was the perfect place to spend our last few days of family time before our son started his journey at the Academy and it will forever be part of our memory of this very special time.

Beautiful, but not quiet

The waterfront locations is lovely, and the bedroom and kitchen were clean well equipped. I knew about the potential for trains to pass by overnight and was willing to take a chance, but we had trains at 10:30pm and 2:30am. Around 6:15am I awoke to the sound of footsteps and running from the family upstairs. It was loud enough to wake me and prevent me from getting back to sleep. One concern on cleanliness: the shower curtain looked quite dirty or moldy at the bottom, as did the fan vent in the bathroom.

Peaceful environment, beautiful views, comfort galore. The property lights at night time were a pleasant surprise. Just a few "oh,nooo" comments: laundry was left in the dryer and the washer had some gunk on the inside - the rubber seal when you open it. The dishwasher had spots of mildew in the utensils spot. The wall hook for the curtain in the bedroom broke on the first night - it was barely in the wall. The Keurig was a bonus, 2 touchlanmps in the bedroom with charging ports, large comfy sofa, magnificent views 24 hours a day. The pros outweighed the cons tenfold. The few negatives were only listed because it wasn't expected with the amount of money we paid.

Beautiful sunset!

The unit itself was functional, though not very well appointed with kitchenware or bedding. The view is stunning and proximity to the submarine museum is a definite bonus. Upon arrival, we had not received check in instructions via VRBO or directly from the property manager so we weren't able to access the unit until we found someone upstairs an hour after we attempted to check in. Also upon arrival, there was food from previous renters in the refrigerators and old pizza boxes on top of the fridge that hadn't been taken out. No recycling and garbage outside door was knocked over by a critter in the night making for a big mess that we had to clean up. Generally it was okay and the view is beautiful but could use some refining. Perhaps okay for the price.

What a beautiful house with the most amazing view. We enjoyed our stay so much and would definitely return again. Very clean, very comfortable and a perfect location. I would highly recommend this lovely slice of heaven on the Thames River to anyone!
