My group enjoyed staying at Alprendre for its size, facilities, and the attentiveness of the owner/manager. This property was outside of the Guimãraes town center. For us it was perfect, because we came the weekend of the Medieval Fair and it allowed us to be away from the crowds. The weekend was a hot one as well. The air conditioning and the pool were a great comfort, The ac is not central, each room has its own unit which was great for us since we all like different levels of cool. The best features of the house are the pristine outdoors. Lovely seating, beautiful landscaping, cute little cubbies and a great view. The pool is clean and not full of chemicals. The owners attended to everything daily. Communication with Graciete was frequent and smooth—she made sure we had everything we needed and provided a fan when we asked for one. My only caveat—despite the size, the house is filled with precious handicrafts that might be tempting to a dog or child. They are in all the spaces —on the chairs and the tables and quite within reach. Seating was a little challenging for conversation—the tables and chairs were covered with displays. We spent most meals and conversation times in the outside spaces. If you don’t have a car, the car share ride to town is only about 5 euros and is easier than trying to find parking in the city center. Any thing you need, Graciete is happy to advise.
