The positives first: beachy decor with cozy, classic wood pieces and unique touches to the home and comfortable beds, many updates throughout the home, steps from the sand with a nice deck, plenty of parking, plenty of beds for multiple guests, three full bathrooms, and everything you need related to linens and kitchen supplies and newer large appliances (and washer and dryer)
Cons: kitchen countertops need to be replaced, freezer door sticks and is hard to pull in and out, fridge doors dirty, no coffeemaker (only a Keurig, so plan accordingly), blender needs to be replaced, lockbox very difficult to find and subsequently open and close (make sure you find the right one upon check in, there are multiple around the house), there are only TWO TVs in the entire home, so again, plan accordingly (especially if you have kids and teens who depend on TVs for gaming and streaming), most of the windows (and there are a ton of them) are uncovered, so be comfortable with being exposed and bright sunshine early in the morning (hope no one needs total darkness to sleep in!), and last but certainly not least, the air conditioner is not controllable downstairs, which is where the kitchen/living area/two master bedrooms are located—it’s a thermostat that can’t be adjusted (upstairs can be and was heavenly) so when it’s summer during a heat wave (and heat advisories in place outside), it would be amazing to go below 74°! I don’t know about you, but I’m a woman of a certain age and require cold temps to sleep and not sweat more than I already do—getting out of the shower to start sweating immediately is not my idea of a vacation home. Though Vacasa was responsive to my ongoing feedback during my trip, I requested on the first day that the thermostat be adjusted—it never was because they said they could never reach the operations manager. This detracted from my stay, and unfortunately, not only would I not stay here again because of it (albeit Vacasa’s failing), I will not book with Vacasa again. I am giving three stars because the house itself was fine, though there are some needed upgrades, not to mention the proximity to the beach, but everyone who stayed downstairs, which was the majority of my party, sweated through a week of stuffy, sweaty sleeping and had to go outside to appreciate the “coolness” of the inside.
