The rooms are just gorgeous. The beds are comfortable and the whole atmosphere is great there. We enjoyed the large hot tub several times throughout the day and night, while taking in the beautiful views and birdwatching. We really enjoyed the private, screened balcony as well. Every part of the property was enjoyable and the staff are top notch. The breakfast was phenomenal!! Tina is an awesome innkeeper! She made us feel so comfortable and right at home. This really has become our new favorite place for a short getaway. Amadeo the african grey parrot, and Truman the frenchie were such a treat too!! I foresee us returning quite regularly for as long as it's on the map!!

The Antietam Overlook Inn is a wonderful B&B perfectly situated on a hilltop in the Maryland Piedmont, just minutes away from Antietam Nat'l Battlefiield, Sharpsburg MD and Shepherdstown WV. The wilderness setting is stunning -- I saw more wildlife in one hour drinking my morning coffee than I saw in an entire day in Shenandoah Nat'l Park. The staff prepared a delicious communal breakfast for the 3 couples staying that night along with us. Great for pets -- they have a Frenchie, a farm cat and an African Gray parrot. While we only stayed one night, I would absolutely return to this beautiful part of Appalachia for an extended stay.
