5/5 - Excellent
It was quiet when I visited but there are a few restaurants/dining options a short distance from the property. There's also a lot of historical information around the town if you have time.

Lovely staff, friendly. Comfortable bed and food was good. Would stay again, thank you

This is a classic quaint, village inn, excellent food, and very comfortable folksy rooms with loft beds. The proprietor and all the staff are super helpful and friendly. A perfect spot to hike directly to the best spots of Hadrians Wall.

Went to see Hadrian's Wall excellent.
The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside. The Manor House Inn on the high road served some lovely food and excellent real ale. I really don't know why the Romans ever left !!
We loved this little town!
Several good eating places, shops and local amenities - and well placed for exploring Hadrians Wall
fish and chip shop was good, lots of pubs.
