"Very clean facility that is very classy and historic. It’s a little tricky to navigate at first if attending a conference, but it’s near a lot of great food and shopping. Will return next time I’m in Charleston!"

"It is very old and has been updated. But could use another round of updates. This is the second year we have been and the elevators are always an issue. They are very expensive for what you get but since they are the only hotel you don’t have a choice. As soon as we checked in the smoke detector was chirping from a low battery. I called the front desk, someone came, took the smoke detector ans 5 days later we checked out without anyone replacing it. Also. Make sure you know what a Juliette balcony is. Very small. Can fit a very small chair on it if you turn is sideways."

"Had the best time at Charleston place! 11 out of 10 I couldn’t ask for anything more. The hotel is stunning and the pool upgrades are phenomenal. I can’t wait to come back when the spa is done! Thank you to the entire staff for making this a trip to remember"

"Clean modern hotel with a nice touch of historic charm. Rooms were very clean. Staff was exceptional and even gave us special gifts for our birthdays! It was centrally located, and across the street from a grocery store which was also helpful. I would absolutely stay there again!"

"Expedia gave me the option to rate my first night at the hotel. I gave it 3 stars and they asked me to send a note to the hotel manager with the issues I had- no blackout curtains, a smell of mildew in the room, the beds are not very comfortable and there is a $100 check-in early fee. By 930am, maintenence arrived and fixed the smell and housekeeping brought me a blanket for our window. I was very impressed with the quick response. There is free breakfast, the rooms are clean with all the amenities we needed. The pool was the perfect temp for a very hot day. Very decent hotel for the price! But, I still wish they would offer early check-in without a fee if rooms are available."
