Need to improve reservation problem

We have booked and paid in advance for the hotel room, but when we come to check in, the staff told us all the room are fulled, and the staff trying to hide the truth and keep telling us that we are offering you another room in another hotels, which is not in walking distance. We are straving and tired , and the street is full of people, and no taxi can be found. So, they jus take us there by a motorbike. The whole experience is not good.

Room is overbooked and sent us to somewhere else

We supposed to stay for 2 nights but when we arrived the hotel at 5pm. no room for us (we paid to expedia two months in advance) They sent us to Impressive Hotel just a few steps away, and offered a free airport dropoff instead. We are not happy to their arrangement and practices, although Impressive Hotel is the same grade, but the room is smaller, and we have a long wait in the lobby(30 mins+) for a clean and tidyup.

Not sure how to rate this hotel properly. The hotel really needs work to bring it back to its former glory. Having said that, rooms are big, bed is comfortable. Everything works and rooms are clean. 2 things that may score against it 1. There are no lifts 2. It is right next to St Joseph Cathedral, the bells toll every 15 minutes (very briefly). Those who are easily woken may find annoying.

Well located hotel, good service but basic rooms

We booked this hotel primarily due to it's great location in the heart of Hanoi, literally next to the cathedral square and a short walk from major attractions. The staff were very friendly and professional but the quality of the room was a little disappointing. The photos give an impression of a high quality room but in reality the room was average at best. There were only beds and no bedside tables, the bathroom had a transparent glass wall allowing you to see the feet and body outline of the person using it which was frankly quite bizarre. Also, there was no elevator and the room was on the 4th floor, although on arrival our bags were carried to our room it was difficult bringing them down in the morning. If you are looking for a crash pad while you are enjoying the city this place will be fine (as long as you are well acquainted with your room mate already!), but if you are planning to relax in the room then other options provide more comfort.
